Following Gabriel’s internship with us, we’re excited to share that we are developing a partnership with 180 Degrees Consulting Lancaster at Lancaster University

180 Degrees Consulting Lancaster is a student consultancy that works with local businesses and organisations to deliver real project work, while giving students valuable industry experience.

Through this partnership, we’ll be working more closely together to:
• Collaborate on consulting projects
• Support student development
• Explore new opportunities for students to gain practical experience

This marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration that we’re looking forward to developing further in the coming months.

We’re excited about what this means for both our team and the students at Lancaster University.

We’re excited to introduce Gabriel, who has joined us as an intern from 180 Degrees Consulting Lancaster at Lancaster University .

180 Degrees Consulting is a student-led consultancy where students work on real-world projects alongside their studies, gaining hands-on experience in consulting and business problem-solving.

Since joining us, Gabriel has been getting involved across a range of projects, working closely with the team and gaining first-hand insight into how we operate.

When asked about his experience so far, Gabriel said:

“My experience at North Star has been amazing. Whether it’s the deep analytical work, or playing with the office dogs, every morning I wake up looking forward to heading to the office. The team here all come from unique backgrounds that inform their perspectives. Darren’s anecdotes, whether it’s to do with his deep operational experience or his wide-ranging personal life, have been incredibly insightful and will no-doubt stick with me for years to come. We’re incredibly proud to share that North Star Projects has been named finalists for the BIBAs 2026 Micro Business Award 🌟

Looking back on the journey, it’s hard not to feel emotional about how far we’ve come.

North Star originally started as just two people with a vision, a lot of determination, and a genuine belief that businesses deserved better support when it came to delivering change and improving how they operate.

Fast forward to today, and while we’re still a very small team of five, what we’re capable of delivering now is night and day compared to those early days.

We work with organisations on complex transformation, operational improvement and project delivery challenges that you’d typically expect much larger consultancies to handle - and we do it with a team of people who genuinely care about the work and the people behind it.

That’s always been the most important thing to us.
Not just delivering projects, Not just ticking boxes, But creating real impact for the businesses we support.

It’s about how well risks and dependencies are managed along the way.

In one programme, mapping interdependencies
(such as stock take schedules and people availability)
helped teams avoid clashes and delays early on.

Introducing RAID logs created a shared space
