It was a real pleasure to deliver our recent four-session SOSTAC®️ training.

Over the course of the programme, we had the opportunity to explore the framework in a practical way, looking not only at the theory behind strong marketing planning, but how it can be applied to real business situations, real objectives and real decisions.

That is always the part that matters most.

SOSTAC®️ is a brilliant structure, but the value comes when people can take it back into their own role and use it with more clarity and confidence.

A sincere thank you to Justin Stronge for sharing such lovely feedback following the course.

“Really enjoyed the SOSTAC course run by Lydia. She explained the SOSTAC framework clearly and provided practical examples that made it easy to apply in real-world situations.”

For me, that is exactly what good training should do: make useful frameworks easier to understand, easier to apply and more relevant to the work people are actually doing.

June is here. How is the year shaping up?

The start of a new month is always a useful marker, but June feels like a particularly good one.

We are far enough into the year for the plans made in January to have been tested a little, but still early enough to make sensible adjustments before the second half properly takes hold.

For many organisations, this is where a few questions start to become clearer.

Is the marketing plan actually guiding decisions?
Are the right priorities getting enough attention?
Is the team clear on what matters most?
Are important conversations around growth, customer experience, leadership or planning happening properly, or just being fitted in around everything else?

It does not mean anything needs a complete overhaul.

Sometimes the next step is simply getting better structure around the work, giving people the right support, or creating space for a more useful conversation.

At LMC Associates, we work with organisations through marketing strategy, mentoring, coaching, facilitation and training, helping businesses strengthen the thinking, people and plans behind the work.

If June feels like a good time to look at what the rest of the year needs from your business, we would be happy to talk through what support could look like.

Important conversations need more than a room and an agenda.

Leadership meetings, strategy sessions, away days and planning workshops can be incredibly valuable, but only when the conversation has enough structure to move somewhere useful.

Without that, it is easy for discussions to become too broad, too rushed, too dominated by a few voices, or too difficult to turn into clear next steps.

That is where professional facilitation can make a real difference.

At LMC Associates, we provide facilitation services to help leadership teams, boards, departments and organisations bring more clarity, focus and momentum to important conversations.

This can include strategic planning workshops, leadership away days, team alignment sessions, stakeholder consultations, customer experience workshops, marketing planning sessions, vision and values work, and action planning.

The role of an external facilitator is not to take over the conversation.

It is to create the right structure, encourage balanced participation, challenge thinking constructively and help turn discussion into practical action.

Sessions can be delivered in person, online or in a hybrid format, depending on what works best for the organisation and the people involved.

If your team has an important conversation coming up, whether around growth, strategy, change, collaboration or decision-making, we would be happy to talk through how facilitation could support it.

Support for the stage your business is in.

Every business reaches points where it needs a bit more structure around the next step.

That might be clearer marketing direction.
A stronger plan.
A trusted sounding board.
Or practical training to help the team feel more confident in what they are delivering.

At LMC Associates, our work sits across three connected areas:

Fractional CMO & Marketing Leadership
Senior marketing support for organisations that need clearer direction, stronger planning and better alignment between marketing, sales and business goals.

Business & Marketing Mentoring
Support for business owners, founders, marketing managers and teams who need space to think, make better decisions and build confidence in the work they are leading.

Training & Capability Development
Practical programmes including SOSTAC®️ marketing planning, WorldHost™️ customer service training, mentoring and coaching.

Different types of support, but the same purpose: helping organisations get clearer on what needs done, put structure around how to do it and build the capability to deliver it consistently.

If your business is growing, changing or feeling the pressure to make marketing work harder, we would be happy to talk through what support could look like.

Poor customer service is rarely just one bad moment.

It is the enquiry that does not get followed up.
The customer who feels like a nuisance.
The complaint that gets handled differently depending on who is on shift.
The team member who wants to help, but has never been shown what good service should look like in practice.

These things can seem small at the time, but they add up.

Lost trust.
Lower morale.
Patchy customer experiences.
More complaints.
Customers quietly choosing somewhere else next time.

For many businesses, customer service is still treated as something people should just “know” how to do. But strong service is not built on guesswork. It needs clear standards, confident people and a shared understanding of how customers should be looked after.

That is where training can make a real difference.

At LMC Associates, we deliver WorldHost™️ customer service training and in-house programmes designed to help teams build practical skills they can use in real customer situations.

That includes how to communicate well, handle difficult moments, represent the business consistently and create the kind of experience customers remember for the right reasons.

Because good service is not just about being pleasant.

It protects your reputation, supports your team and gives customers a reason to come back.

If your customer experience feels inconsistent, or your team would benefit from clearer service standards, now is a good time to look at what support could help.

A bank holiday weekend is good for a few things.

A slower coffee.
A bit of time outside.
Catching up with people.
Catching up with yourself.
Or simply doing very little, which is sometimes exactly what is needed.

As we head into the final week of May, this feels like a good moment to pause before the summer season properly gathers pace.

For many SMEs, the next few months can bring more customers, more enquiries, more events, more staff changes and more plates to keep spinning.

So whether you are using the long weekend to step back and look at the plan, think about what the next season needs from you, or simply recharge the batteries before things get busy again, we hope it is a good one.

Rest is part of good work too.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Marketing can feel like a lot to carry, especially when you are the person expected to have the answers.

You might be managing campaigns, budgets, content, customer expectations, team pressures and the constant question of what to focus on next. Even when things are going well, it can be difficult to step back and see the bigger picture clearly.

That is where marketing mentoring can be so valuable.

Not because someone comes in with all the answers, but because the right conversation can help you untangle the thinking.

What is working?
What feels stuck?
What needs prioritised?
Where is confidence being knocked?
What decision needs made next?

For me, mentoring is about creating space for honest, useful conversations that help people think more clearly and move forward with more confidence.

It is practical support, but it is also personal. Because behind every marketing plan, campaign or business decision, there is usually someone trying to carry a lot, make good choices and keep things moving.

At LMC Associates, I support business owners, marketing professionals and teams through mentoring that is shaped around the real challenges in front of them, from strengthening strategy and decision-making to building confidence, leadership and resilience.

If you feel like your marketing would benefit from a clearer head, a stronger plan or someone experienced to work through the thinking with you, I would be very happy to talk.

Feedback like this is always appreciated.

When I work with a business, it is never just about looking at one isolated part of what they do. The best support comes from understanding the wider picture, what is working, where things feel stuck, what the priorities are, and what kind of guidance will actually be useful.

That is why trust matters so much.

Good mentoring and business support should feel practical, honest and steady. It should give people space to talk through the real challenges, ask questions and make decisions with a little more clarity and confidence.

A sincere thank you to Maeve Monahan for sharing such kind feedback.

“I would highly recommend Lydia. Lydia is approachable, trustworthy and professional at all times. She took a vested interest in all aspects of my business and genuinely wanted to help the business improve. She was patient, calm and thorough in her guidance and advice. I hope that I have the opportunity to work with Lydia again.”

Maeve Monahan

For me, this is exactly what meaningful business mentoring should be: supportive, practical and centred on the business in front of you.

If you are looking for calm, structured support for your business, marketing or next stage of growth, I would be very happy to talk.

New faces on the team? Make sure the standards come with them.

With the warmer months ahead, many SMEs are heading into a busier season.

For some, that means more customers, more enquiries, more bookings, more footfall and more pressure on the people representing the business day to day.

It can also mean new staff, seasonal staff, temporary support or team members stepping into customer-facing roles for the first time.

That is where consistency really matters.

Every customer interaction says something about your business, whether it happens at the front desk, over the phone, by email, on the shop floor, at an event or during a difficult conversation.

When people understand the standard expected, the tone of the business and how to handle real situations with confidence, the whole experience feels stronger.

At LMC Associates, we deliver training and capability development that is shaped around the organisation, not pulled off the shelf and forced to fit.

Our programmes include WorldHost™️ customer service training, mentoring and coaching programmes, and SOSTAC®️ marketing training, with in-house delivery available for teams who want the learning to feel practical, relevant and easy to apply.

That means looking at your setting, your people, your customer scenarios and the kind of service or leadership standards you want to build.

Because good training should not feel separate from the day job.

It should help people understand what great looks like in your business, and give them the confidence to carry that into real customer interactions.

If your team is growing, changing or preparing for a busier season, now is a good time to think about the support they may need.

Nearly halfway through 2026. Is your marketing plan still helping?

At the start of the year, it is easy to talk about trends, tools and what might be around the corner.

By this stage, the more useful question is different.

What has actually changed for your business?

Maybe the way your team uses AI has moved on.
Maybe customer expectations have shifted.
Maybe the activity you planned in January no longer fits quite as neatly.
Maybe the team is doing plenty, but needs more structure, confidence or support behind it.

That is why marketing planning should never be a one-and-done exercise.

A good plan should help you pause, review and make better decisions as the year unfolds. It should give your team something practical to come back to when priorities shift, new opportunities appear or the day-to-day starts pulling attention elsewhere.

It is also why upskilling matters.

Marketing continues to change, but people still need the confidence and capability to use the tools, understand the strategy and make good decisions in real business situations.

At LMC Associates, we support businesses through marketing strategy, mentoring, coaching and training, helping teams build plans that are practical, focused and easier to use in the real world.

If the first half of 2026 has shown you a few gaps, now is a good time to take stock before the second half of the year picks up pace.
