I help small businesses start right, show up right, and be seen clearly, through strategic branding, print, and event-ready design that builds confidence, visibility, and long-term growth.

I get asked a lot what actually goes into getting a stand properly ready, and the honest answer is more than most people expect, banners, leaflets, business cards, signage, sometimes a backdrop, all of it needing to feel like one thing rather than a collection of separate pieces done at different times.

That's exactly why I built the Exhibitor Authority Package, so instead of piecing it together asset by asset, it's all handled together, properly matched, properly considered, and off your plate.

If you'd rather hand the whole thing over and just turn up on the day, that's what it's there for.

Before I ever designed a brand or an exhibition stand, I spent years laying out newspaper pages, and I don't think I realised at the time how much that job was teaching me.

On a newspaper page you're fighting for attention constantly, every headline, every photo, every column has to earn its place, and if a reader's eye doesn't know where to go first, they turn the page and you've lost them.

That's 17 years of training my eye to see what people notice and what they skip, and it's exactly what I use now when I look at an exhibitor's stand, because a stand is really just a page in a very busy newspaper, and the visitors walking past are turning the pages.

So when I talk about the Identity Gap, the space between how good your business really is and how it comes across in a room, this is where it comes from, years of watching what makes people stop and read.

In December I'll be exhibiting myself at The Growth Event, and I'll be honest, it feels different being the one behind the table rather than the one designing it.

I've spent so long telling people to think about those first three seconds that now I have to do it properly for my own stand, and that's both exciting and slightly nerve wracking.

I'm going to share some of the thinking as it comes together, what I'm keeping, what I'm cutting, and the decisions I keep changing my mind about, because I think it's useful to see the process rather than only the finished thing.

More soon.

A gentle last call for event organisers, because my October offer finishes at the end of this week.

If you're planning a small event for 2027, I'm offering fifty percent off my standard fee, which starts at £1,200, for a brand expert eye across your whole room, screen design, banners, tables and chairs, decorations, everything that keeps your brand aligned from the entrance to the stage.

All I ask in return is honest feedback and a review I can share.

I want your exhibitors to come again after a good experience, and your speakers to want to be on your stage again, and that starts with the room feeling like it was designed on purpose.

If that's you, or you know an organiser who'd benefit, message me before Saturday.

Stand diary, episode 3 🎄

So the plan for my backdrop has changed, because I had my heart set on a pegboard style wall where I could hang things and swap them around, and then I priced it up and realised it was going to cost far more than it was worth for one day, so it's back to the drawing board, which honestly is exactly the kind of decision I help my clients make all the time, spending where it matters and saving where it doesn't.

What I have confirmed is the fun part, there'll be scratch cards with little prizes and a fish bowl for business cards, because I want people to have a reason to stop and chat rather than just taking a leaflet and walking on.

And then I spotted a Letters to Santa postbox in a shop for £10, and now I can't stop thinking about it, because it's 7th December, it's festive, and what if people posted their business wish for 2027 into it instead of a business card?

So I need your help, scratch cards and fish bowl as planned, or add the Santa postbox too? Tell me in the comments 👇 or none :D

PS: Showing Hali's Stand as mine's a concept phase :D

I've watched a fifty pound stand stop people in their tracks, and a five thousand pound one get walked straight past.

It's never really been about what you spent. It's about whether someone can tell what you do without having to ask.

Worth asking yourself before your next event, is your stand clear, or just expensive?

Seventeen years of design experience, started on a newspaper layout desk, back home, learning where the eye lands first on a page. Different page now, same skill.
