πŸŽ‰ Friday Five #9!

This week we're looking at the difference good business support can make.

5 ways great business support helps you work smarter, not harder

βœ… Clear systems and structure
βœ… Better time management
βœ… Less overwhelm
βœ… Better decisions
βœ… More time to focus on growth

It's not just about taking jobs off your to-do list.

The right support can give you more time, more clarity and more headspace to concentrate on the things that really matter.

You focus on the big picture. I'll handle the rest. πŸ’™

If you're ready for a little more support behind the scenes, that's where I can help.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! 😊

Behind the Business πŸ’™

I've been thinking about ISO again this week.

When I first became involved with ISO, I'll be honest, I probably saw it as a lot of paperwork, policies and procedures that needed keeping up to date.

But over the years, and particularly during my time as a Managing Director, I realised it's actually about something much more useful.

Understanding how your business really works.

Who does what?

How do things get done?

What happens when something goes wrong?

And are you actually doing things the way you've said you do them?

That's when ISO becomes much more than a certificate on the wall.

It can actually help a business become more organised, consistent and efficient.

And with changes coming to the ISO standards, it's definitely something worth keeping an eye on.

I've worked on ISO from the management side of a business, and I'm now bringing that experience into my Business Support Partner work.

Because good systems shouldn't make your business harder to run.

They should make it easier.

If you've got ISO certification, I'd love to know β€” do you find it genuinely useful, or does it sometimes feel like a necessary evil? πŸ˜‚

This week we're moving beyond the inbox...

5 business support tasks that can help drive your business forward

βœ… Process improvement
βœ… Project coordination
βœ… Business reporting
βœ… Document & file management
βœ… Planning & strategy support

Business support isn't just about taking admin off your hands.

Sometimes you need someone behind the scenes who can help keep projects moving, improve processes, organise the important stuff and give you more time to focus on the bigger picture.

You focus on the big picture. I'll take care of the details. πŸ’™

If you're wondering what a Business Support Partner could take off your plate, that's where I can help.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! 😊

ISO 9001:2026 is coming β€” have you started preparing?

If your business is currently certified to ISO 9001:2015, you may have started hearing about the new 2026 edition.

The revised standard is due to be published on 16 September 2026, and the Final Draft International Standard is now available, giving businesses a much clearer idea of what the changes are likely to involve.

Some of the areas being strengthened or clarified include:

πŸ”Ή Leadership and quality culture
πŸ”Ή Climate change and organisational context
πŸ”Ή Risks and opportunities
πŸ”Ή Management of change
πŸ”Ή Customer feedback
πŸ”Ή Continual improvement

The good news is that this isn't about throwing your existing QMS away and starting again!

The sensible approach is to understand what's changing, review what you already have in place and identify what, if anything, needs attention.

I'm now offering practical ISO 9001 support to small and growing businesses, including QMS reviews, internal audits, corrective actions, management reviews and transition support.

My aim is simple β€” make sure your QMS works for your business, rather than creating paperwork for the sake of paperwork.

If you've got ISO 9001 and haven't looked at the 2026 revision yet, now is probably a good time to start. 😊

If you'd like to have a chat about what the changes could mean for your business, just drop me a message.

This week's Friday Five is all about getting some of your precious time back!

5 tasks you could delegate today

βœ… Sorting and replying to emails
βœ… Managing your diary and appointments
βœ… Data entry and spreadsheets
βœ… Creating documents and reports
βœ… Researching and comparing options

None of these jobs are difficult... but they can take up a LOT of your time.

And let's be honest, you didn't start your business to spend all day doing admin! πŸ˜‚

If you're ready to hand some of those jobs over, that's where I can help. πŸ’™

Which one would you most like to hand over?

Have a lovely weekend everyone! 😊

Behind the Business

I've spent most of my working life working for someone else.

Over 30 years in business, including five years as a Managing Director, I've experienced pretty much every side of working life β€” the good, the stressful, the rewarding and the downright frustrating!

But a while ago I decided I wanted something different.

I wanted to build something of my own.

Not because I don't like working hard (I definitely do!) but because I wanted more control over my time and the freedom to decide what my working life looks like.

Starting my own business has definitely been a learning curve. There have been days when I've wondered whether I'm doing enough, whether I'm doing things the "right" way and whether anyone actually knows I'm here!

But there have also been some lovely moments.

Getting my first client.
Creating my own website.
Getting recommendations.
And realising that the experience I've built up over all those years really does have value.

I'm still figuring it all out, but I'm enjoying building something that feels like me.

And I think that's the important bit.

Sometimes you don't have to follow the path that's expected of you. You can take a completely different route and see where it leads.

So here's to doing things a little differently. πŸ₯‚

Have you ever decided to take a different path, even when you weren't quite sure where it would lead?

πŸ“‹ ISO 9001 support for small businesses

I'm adding something new to my business and I'm looking to connect with small and growing businesses that already have ISO 9001 β€” or are considering getting certified.

I'm a BSI-qualified ISO 9001 Implementer and Internal Auditor, and I'm now offering flexible, independent support with:

βœ”οΈ Internal audits
βœ”οΈ QMS reviews & maintenance
βœ”οΈ Corrective actions
βœ”οΈ Management reviews
βœ”οΈ External audit preparation

The idea is simple β€” you don't necessarily need a full-time Quality Manager. Sometimes you just need an experienced pair of hands to help keep things on track.

Remote support across the UK, with onsite visits available where required.

I'm currently looking to speak to a few small businesses to understand where this type of flexible ISO support could help.

If you have ISO 9001 and sometimes feel like keeping the system maintained is just another job on the never-ending list, I'd be happy to have a chat. 😊

Feel free to comment below or send me a message.

πŸŽ‰ Friday Five #6!

This week's Friday Five is one I think lots of business owners will relate to...

πŸ“‹ 5 signs you're spending too much time working in your business

βœ… Your to-do list never seems to get any shorter.
βœ… You're replying to emails in the evening.
βœ… Admin always comes before the jobs that grow your business.
βœ… You never seem to have time to plan ahead.
βœ… You often say, "I'll just do it myself."

Sound familiar?

Running a business doesn't mean you have to do everything yourself.

Sometimes the smartest decision is knowing which tasks to keep... and which ones to hand over.

And for the ones that don't? That's where I can help.

So... which one sounds most like you? 😊

Have a lovely weekend!

🎯 Behind the Business

One of the biggest lessons I learnt as a Managing Director was that trying to do everything yourself isn't a badge of honour.

It's exhausting!

I used to think it was quicker to deal with the emails, update the spreadsheets, organise meetings and sort out all the little jobs myself.

Sometimes it was.

But every time I did, I was taking time away from the bigger picture.

Looking back, I realised I didn't need to do everything...

I just needed to make sure everything got done.

That's one of the reasons I love supporting other business owners now.

Giving someone a few extra hours each week can make a huge differenceβ€”not just to their business, but to their stress levels too.

😊 Is there one job you keep saying you'll delegate "one day"?
