We are delighted to announce Mallams’ sponsorship of The Edgeler Collection for 2026/2027.

This week, Chloe had a wonderful time visiting the team as they put the finishing touches to their new exhibition, which opens today.

A passionate and prolific collector of pottery, John Edgeler established the Trust in 2019 to make his collection accessible to the local community. It is one of the most important collections of Cardew-period Winchcombe Pottery and includes work by Michael Cardew, Ray Finch and Sidney Tustin.

The collection remains in John’s former home, Queen Anne House in Winchcombe, where the wonderful group of Trustees continue his legacy with great passion and dedication, caring for the collection and sharing it through an inspiring programme of exhibitions and events.

Their latest exhibition, A Natural Warmth: The Early Years at Winchcombe Pottery, celebrates the centenary of Winchcombe Pottery with a wonderful selection of pots from its first two decades of production. It opens today and runs until September. You won’t want to miss it!

We are so pleased to be supporting the Trust and look forward to sharing much more from The Edgeler Collection over the coming months.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable sale. Head to our website to view the full auction results- https://www.mallams.co.uk/auction/details/ab-the-house--garden-sale/?au=623

Most people don’t know where to start when selling at auction.

This short video takes you through the process, from valuation to sale day. We hope it will be a useful resource for anyone who is new to the auction world or would like a better understanding of how the process works. Please do share it with anyone who may find it helpful.

If you are considering selling, we offer free valuation mornings every Tuesday at our salerooms in Oxford, Abingdon and Cheltenham, as well as monthly valuation events in Henley and Burford.

Filmed by the very talented Samuel Holdsworth.
