SAP Business One version 10 FP2608 can send your emails straight through your company's Microsoft 365 account, with no separate mail server and no stored passwords. That matters now that Microsoft is phasing out Basic Authentication for sending email (SMTP).

Our ERP Health Check is free, takes around half a day of your team's time, and ends with a written report you keep whatever you decide to do next.

We look at how your system is set up against how you work now, how it performs and where the security and access risks sit. We also look at which processes have moved into spreadsheets, how your people find using it, and whether it will carry where your business is heading.

The report sorts what we find into things you can fix yourself, things worth investing in and things to leave alone. More often than not, the system is capable and the set-up has drifted from how your business now runs.

In SAP Business One, a user-defined query can now start as a sentence. Type the question you want answered, such as which invoices are overdue by customer, and Business One writes the database query for you to review before it runs.

The results open as a workspace you can filter and sort, so the first answer can lead straight to the next question without anyone building a new report.

SAP calls this AI User Defined Query. It earns its keep on the questions that come up every month, like sales orders at risk, low-margin sales or supplier performance, because the person who needs the answer can get it themselves.

At Digital Finance Show and its sister event, Digital Accountancy Show, 49 of the 137 sessions on the agenda had AI in the title, and one of the theatres was named after it. AI in practice, across accountancy and finance operations, ran through both days at ExCeL London.

We think AI in finance works when the data and processes underneath it are in good shape, which is why that is where we start when a finance team brings us an AI question.

Thank you to everyone who came to stand A15 for a conversation, and to SAP for sharing the stand with us across both days. Between those conversations and the time spent with vendors and partners on the show floor, the team left ExCeL with plenty to follow up on.

Your team can ask Business One a question in everyday language and get the answer from your own data, without writing a report or waiting for someone who knows how to build one. SAP has been building AI into Business One, and because your sales, stock and finance records already sit in one system, the answers come with the context of your business behind them.

You don't need a plan for every use on day one. SAP's own advice is to start where it makes the biggest difference and widen it from there.

SAP stopped selling Business ByDesign to new customers on 20 April 2026, and we've had a lot of questions since from businesses that already run it. If you're one of them, you carry on as you are and support continues as normal. SAP's roadmap for ByDesign points to SAP Cloud ERP, the product it used to call S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, so a move is something you can plan when it suits your business.
