Episode 85: Confessions of a Leader – Final Phases, Tough Calls & Clarity

This episode starts with a weekend review a good balance, but straight back into it.

The week kicked off with a construction client meeting, working through the final phase of an apartment block project bringing everything together, standards, delivery, and finishing strong.

From there, it was onto another client site visit, reviewing standards and performance, making sure expectations are being met and maintained.

The day moved into a run of key meetings:
• CEO meeting – Maid to Help
• MD meeting – Apollo Entertainment
• 1-to-1 with a client questioning the direction of their business real, honest conversation about clarity and next steps

Then came one of those leadership moments a meeting with a member of my management team to make a decision on their future. Not easy, but necessary.

The day finished with a visit to meet the team at a new school client, welcoming them onboard and setting the tone from day one.

šŸ”„ Episode 85 is about finishing strong, asking the right questions, and making decisions that shape the future.

Monday started with 1-to-1s with the management team, aligning expectations and performance. Then into new client onboarding, with several schools coming on board with Maid to Help, a strong step forward in expanding the portfolio.

Tuesday was focused on the ground construction client site visits, resetting standards and expectations with the team. Followed by 1-to-1 client meetings, centred around sales and marketing strategy to drive growth and performance.

Wednesday included a 1-to-1 with an Entrepreneur Mastermind client, then meetings with the MDs of Total Fitness and Apollo Entertainment, preparing for their trip to FIBO, one of the biggest industry conferences.

Thursday took me to Mid Wales, meeting the management team of a newly acquired FM company. Big conversations around structure, culture, and integration alongside client visits to keep close to operations.

Episode 84: Confessions of a Leader Long Days, Standards & Showing Up

This episode reflects the reality of 14-hour days the pressure, the pace, and the responsibility that comes with leadership.

A big focus this week was site visits, where standards simply weren’t good enough. It led to honest conversations around training, expectations, and accountability not just to the business, but to the team as a whole.

Alongside that, it’s been full of 1-to-1 coaching calls with clients, seeing the impact in real time. When things start to click for them, when you see that shift in thinking and performance that’s what it’s all about.

Personally, it’s also been about getting back into the gym. A reminder that physical fitness is key not just for health, but for clarity, energy, and leadership performance.

The week also included BNI meetings and client visits, continuing to build relationships and drive growth.

And through it all making time for family, because growing a business means nothing if you’re not present for the people who matter most.

šŸ”„ Long days. High standards. Real leadership.

Episode 83: Confessions of a Leader Balance, Big Moves & Business from Anywhere

This week was all about balance business, family, and realising what truly matters.

Monday started working from home with back-to-back Teams calls, before switching off in the afternoon to spend time with my youngest daughter shopping and lunch, finishing the day watching my boy play football.

Tuesday was full throttle early meetings all day, followed by a dad and daughter day, then straight back into evening meetings. The juggle is real.

Wednesday kicked off speaking at Castle Connections, sharing insight across all the businesses. Then onto a construction site visit, followed by one-to-one coaching, and the official launch of Apollo working with EmpowerWise, supporting domestic abuse training something with real impact.
The day didn’t stop there it was then off to the London offices for a meeting with the senior leadership team.

Thursday started with BNI, followed by a 1-to-1 coaching session, before ending the day with a meal with some special people.

Friday (Good Friday) was a mix of business and family visiting a venue and locking in a very special date in August, then switching fully into family time and Easter fun.

Saturday brought a great result my boy’s team won 2–1 against a side that had beaten them twice earlier in the week. Then it was into Cardiff for food and shopping, making the most of the weekend.

Across it all daily dog walks, time to think, reset, and reflect.

And the biggest realisation this week?
šŸ”„ The business can run from anywhere as long as I’ve got my phone.

Episode 82: Confessions of a Leader Tough Truths, Big Wins & Family Moments

This episode covers a full week of leadership, reflection, and real life.

The weekend was spent driving the kids around supporting their business, seeing first-hand the effort, commitment, and growth they’re putting in something I’m incredibly proud of.

Monday started at a hotel with a meeting with the Managing Directors of ny companie, followed by a full session with the FM team, delivering a restructure and setting clear expectations moving forward. It also sparked a reflection on soft parenting, after seeing first-hand how out-of-control behaviour at a kids’ party creates chaos when boundaries aren’t there.

There were also multiple conversations around the education system especially after my own son was assaulted, and the lack of action taken. A serious question: are we doing enough to protect our children?

Tuesday meant a trip to London, meeting with the team and taking time for an NLP therapy session with Steff Scanlan, resetting mindset and sharpening focus.

Wednesday was a big one the official launch of the Entrepreneur Mastermind, with a brilliant first session and strong energy from the room.

Thursday included BNI, coaching client meetings, and a personal moment celebrating my boxer Maddie’s first birthday 🐶

Friday was back to site visits one construction client and one school, keeping close to operations and delivery.

Saturday brought balance my youngest boy at football, my daughter performing as the Evil Queen in Snow White, and finishing the day at a soul and Motown show.

šŸ”„ Episode 82 is about real leadership the wins, the frustrations, the family, and the fight to keep moving forward.

Episode 81: Confessions of a Leader

Tough Decisions, Big Moves & Family First

This episode captures a full week of leadership, growth, and real-life reflections.

Sunday started on a dog walk, talking openly about the work ethic of young people today and questioning whether modern ā€œsoft parentingā€ is helping or hindering resilience and drive. Honest thoughts that spark debate.

Monday meant travelling into Mid Wales for a major meeting preparing for the potential takeover of one of the largest cleaning companies to bring into the Maid to Help Group. Alongside this were calls with equipment suppliers and leadership teams, laying the groundwork for what could be a significant expansion move.

Tuesday began with a meeting with a new marketing company that will lead the FM marketing strategy, especially with growth plans ahead. Then into an NLP session with Steff Scanlan at The Scanlan Method, resetting mindset and sharpening focus. The day continued with a content shoot for Apollo Business Group, before driving to Swindon for a leadership meeting.

Wednesday started at the Castle Connections networking group, always full of energy and opportunity. Client meetings followed with Entrepreneur Mastermind coaching clients, including tough but necessary decisions demoting one manager while promoting another to Director of AI, reflecting how businesses evolve. An interview with a potential Operations Manager came next, before finishing with family time and a meal.

Thursday brought the usual BNI meeting, still delivering value even while questioning whether it’s the right long-term fit for the business. Later, a meeting with Go Local Magazine reviewed their April sales performance and they smashed it, outperforming the previous three months.

Friday was something personal new tattoo day, marking progress and change in a different way.

Saturday was all about family first. Breakfast with my 13-year-old son, followed by The Addams Family panto with everyone together, before a chilled evening and a bit of admin to close the week.

šŸ”„ Episode 81 is about expansion, leadership decisions, mindset resets, and remembering why we do it all.
