Growing your business? Don't let HR keep you awake at night.

When you're starting out, it's just you. Then suddenly you've got employees, policies, difficult conversations, training needs, and employment legislation to think about too!

Tom Waterman knows exactly what that feels like. As his business grew, he realised he needed support from someone who understood HR and could guide him through the challenges of managing a team.

After being introduced to Amanda, he brought AJ HR & Training Solutions into his business as outsourced HR support.

Today, Tom's team has grown to nine people, and we're proud to continue supporting him with both HR and training. From helping with difficult employee conversations to delivering engaging health and safety training, we're there whenever support is needed.

Here's what Tom had to say:

"I couldn't run my business effectively without Amanda."

"I always tell people that if they're taking on even one employee, they need to speak to Amanda."

Thank you, Tom, for your kind words and for trusting us to support your business journey.

If you're growing your team and would like practical HR support or tailored training, we'd love to chat.

Work doesn’t have to feel… well, like work all the time.

With Have Fun at Work Day (30th May) coming up, it’s a great reminder that positive, engaging workplaces don’t happen by accident, they’re built intentionally.

From small moments (a team coffee break, a shared win, a bit of light-hearted competition) to bigger cultural shifts (psychological safety, recognition, flexibility), creating space for enjoyment at work can have a real impact on morale, retention, and performance.

At its core, “fun” at work isn’t about distractions, it’s about connection, energy, and feeling valued.

As a team of HR professionals, we work with organisations to build cultures where people can thrive and enjoy what they do.

If your workplace could use a boost, this is your sign to start the conversation.

Behind every thriving organisation is a strong, thoughtful HR function.

This International Human Resources Day, we’re recognising the people who shape workplace culture, support employees through challenges, and help businesses grow sustainably.

HR today is far more than policies and processes - it’s about creating environments where people feel heard, valued, and able to do their best work. From navigating change and driving engagement, to championing wellbeing and inclusion, HR plays a critical role at every level of an organisation.

At its best, HR connects people and performance in a way that benefits everyone.
To all HR professionals….thank you for the impact you make every day.
