🎉 Welcome to the Chamber, Sales Geek! 🎉

At Sales Geek, their mission is to change the way the world perceives sales.

They believe sales should be about understanding customers, building trust, having better conversations and creating value - not pressure, scripts or outdated sales tactics.

Sales Geek supports SMEs across Central and North Hertfordshire through three complementary services:

🔹 Fractional Sales Director – giving SMEs access to experienced sales leadership without employing a Sales Director full-time.

🔹 Sales Mentoring – providing experienced, practical support to business owners, sales professionals and leaders looking to improve their sales performance.

🔹 Sales Training – practical, interactive training designed to change behaviour and improve sales effectiveness.

Their approach is simple: understand where a business is today, where it wants to get to and what is getting in the way, then create a practical plan with clear goals, measurable milestones and a focus on outcomes.

We’re delighted to have Sales Geek as part of our Chamber community and look forward to supporting them.

We’re delighted to introduce Savage Collective, our Headline Sponsor for Businesswomen Connect: The Power of Growth.

Growth is exciting. But as businesses grow, so can the pressure on the people behind them.

As Samantha van Gemert of Savage Collective puts it:

“Sustainable growth isn’t about asking people to keep doing more. It’s about creating the right conditions for people and performance to thrive.” We couldn’t agree more.

That’s why we’re proud to partner with Savage Collective for Businesswomen Connect: The Power of Growth, an afternoon of honest conversation, meaningful connections and shared learning, exploring what it really means to grow a business while supporting the people who make it happen.

📅 Thursday 24 September | 11.45am–2pm
📍 Harpenden Golf Club

Join us for an afternoon of connection, inspiration and honest conversations about growing well. Book your place today.

🥾 50, 5,416 metres and one epic challenge!

We’re proud to be supporting Chamber member Rafi Bejerano, Managing Director of Sopwell House, as he takes on the incredible 18-day Annapurna Circuit in Nepal to mark his 50th birthday, all in aid of Hospitality Action.

Rafi first visited Nepal 25 years ago, intending to complete the trek, but an Achilles injury meant he had to put that ambition on hold. Now, a quarter of a century later, he’s returning to finish what he started.

Reaching Thorong Pass at 5,416 metres (17,769 ft), more than 200 metres higher than Everest Base Camp, the challenge will involve freezing temperatures, long days of trekking, high altitude and just one rest day across 18 days. 🏔️

For Rafi, the challenge is about more than turning 50. It’s about making the most of life, embracing adventure and, importantly, giving back to an industry that means so much to him. Rafi has chosen Hospitality Action as his beneficiary, a charity he has supported for many years through Sopwell House and its Employee Assistance Programme.

We wish Rafi the very best for this incredible adventure!

If you’d like to support Rafi and Hospitality Action, please consider donating and helping him make a difference to hospitality people across the UK: https://heyor.ca/BogOvn

Spotlight on Chamber Member Collaboration

When local experts come together, valuable insights follow. 👏

We’re delighted to highlight an upcoming event hosted by Taylor Walton LLP, bringing together expertise from across our Chamber network and the wider commercial property sector.

On Wednesday 9 September, Taylor Walton will be hosting their Commercial Property Insights: Practical Strategies for Owners & Investors event at The Grove, Watford. This will be an interactive panel discussion designed for commercial property owners, investors and professionals.

The event will feature a panel of leading experts from across the commercial property sector, including representatives from Chamber members Taylor Walton LLP, Mercer & Hole and Lumin Wealth, alongside Brasier Freeth, covering the legal, surveying, tax and financial considerations that shape successful commercial property ownership, investment and management.

As well as providing a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and connect with fellow professionals, the event is also supporting a fantastic local cause. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Youth Talk, a valued St Albans Chamber member and local charity providing free, confidential counselling and mental health support to young people across Hertfordshire.

It’s fantastic to see Chamber members collaborating to share knowledge, strengthen connections and make a positive impact within our local community. 🌟
