A real treat to see and not as uncommon as you'd think, owl box bees - no owls present.
I've removed bees from 3 owl boxes, a dovecot and numerous pigeon houses built into walls. They multiply quickly most likely due to the smaller size. Not so for owl houses and most of the time fit 14x12 frames.
This one is fantastic, just take a second to watch them fly in and out.
The entrance a jumble of sticks, a small piece of comb and an attempt to propolise. We as beekeerers provide wasp guards, mouse excluders and different ports for different levels of activity, nature just does its own thing.
Isn't it a thing of beauty π§‘π
