Unfortunately, every year sepsis affects nearly 50 million people worldwide. Through our spin-out company, Health, we’re aiming improve survival rates and reduce recovery times by detecting sepsis before symptoms appear.

Researchers at have identified a molecular 'signature' that can be used to predict this life-threatening condition up to three days before a patient shows symptoms. This extends the treatment window, reducing the cost and improving the effectiveness of treatment.

Since the spin-out was established, Presymptom Health has won The Sun's 2018 'Millie' award for innovation and was recently a runner up in Bio-seeds 'One to Watch' award at the OBN awards 2021.

Detective Todd Clancy of Delray Beach Police Department’s Cold Case Unit has successfully solved a cold case murder from 1983 thanks to a ground-breaking innovation we licensed to .

Developed by and , the
Latent Fingerprint Technique (LFT) can develop a previously unrecoverable fingerprint and make it visible so that forensic scientists can identify individuals.

The technology helped to identify 21-year-old Carla Lowe's killer which, without the development of this innovation, would have remained unsolved.

We ensure that UK government innovations get into the hands of users to make a positive difference.

This a fantastic example of why we do what we do.
