Zero bits of bad news from our latest audit! 🥳

We’ve had a busy but brilliant couple of days here at EVOTEC! The team has been undergoing a big two-day recertification audit with the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) to check up on our quality system and our fire and security standards.

The auditor didn't just sit in the office with us - also jumped in the car to shadow us on a couple of site visits, checking up on our portable fire extinguisher servicing to make sure everything is top-notch.

Our favourite moment from the entire week? The auditor wrapping up the visit by saying: "Nice and easy – nothing raised" 😁👍

Hearing that we got a completely clean bill of health with absolutely no issues found is just wonderful. It’s a massive testament to the care and hard work the EVOTEC crew puts in every single day. We don’t do things to look fancy or impressive - we just care about doing a proper job for our local Salisbury and Wiltshire community.

A huge thank you to our clients for hosting us during the inspections, and to our amazing team for keeping the standards high! 👍

Want to join a team that celebrates hard work and looks out for each other? We’re looking for experienced engineers to join the family! Find out more here: https://www.evotec.online/careers

Public speaking nerves are very real! 🫣 If you had told Vaida a few years ago that she’d be standing up in front of a room of local business leaders giving a 15-minute keynote talk, she would have laughed and run a mile! But this morning she braced herself and did exactly that at the Ambassadors Business Breakfast Club

Running a business can feel a bit lonely at times, even when you have an amazing team behind you. Whether you’re a solicitor, a photographer, a therapist, or an alarm engineer, we all face the same growing pains. Having a warm, friendly local room to share those challenges makes a world of difference.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share the EVOTEC Fire & Security story – from her early days in linguistics and copy-editing to how we built the business. We started EVOTEC because we wanted to do things properly – rejecting outdated technology and focusing on absolute quality for our clients and real support for our brilliant field technicians.

Because of the hard work of the EVOTEC crew, we’ve grown organically to a team of 14 based entirely on our Salisbury reputation. We are also incredibly proud to be the only company within 10 miles of Salisbury to hold both NSI Fire Gold and NACOSS Gold accreditations.

Before wrapping up, V left the room with a quick, 1-second safety tip that you can try at your own business or home today: Stop what you’re doing, take a look around your premises, and ask: What could possibly go wrong here, and what would I actually do? It's a brilliant habit to get into!

A massive thank you to the whole Ambassadors group for cheering us on. Extra special thanks to Rose and Darren for the lovely photos and words today, and everyone else your incredible support.

And the biggest thank you of all goes to Andrius Tamkus – EVOTEC simply wouldn't exist without you, and there's no one better to share this crazy business journey with! 😘

Hot work for the EVOTEC crew! 🥵🔥

While many are still enjoying the Bank Holiday sun, the EVOTEC team is gearing up for one of our busiest weeks of the year - the May half-term school rush!

Schools are busy places, so we often wait for the holidays to get stuck into the big maintenance jobs and new installs. This week, our engineers are working flat-out to get everything finished in just four days. And with the thermometer hitting 30 degrees, it’s safe to say those winter jackets have been left in the back of the red vans! 🚐💨

A huge shout-out to our crew for keeping their cool (literally!) while making sure our local schools are safe and secure for the term ahead. We’re so proud of the work they do to support our Wiltshire community.

Spotted one of our vans at a school near you? Give the team a wave, they might just need a cold water top-up! 💧

We’ve had a busy start to the week! Our maintenance technician Greg sent over some great photos from a local retirement village where the EVOTEC crew has been hard at work.

We recently took over the care of the fire alarm system here, and it’s a big one! With nearly 2,000 sensors and alarms spread across the site, Greg has been making sure every single one is working perfectly. We’ve been carrying out "audibility tests" - which is just a fancy way of saying we’re making sure that if there’s ever an emergency, everyone can hear the alarm loud and clear, no matter where they are in the village.

One of the best parts of our job is meeting the residents and finding ways to make them feel even safer. The team has been installing some clever tech for residents who might need a bit of extra help, including vibrating pillows and flashing lights that trigger if the alarm goes off. It’s all wireless and links straight to the main system, so there’s no mess and no fuss.

It’s a beautiful spot to work in, and we’re so proud to be looking after such a wonderful community. If you see the vans out and about in Wiltshire this week, give Greg and the team a wave! 👋

It’s Friday! And what a week it’s been. We made sure to take a breather on Wednesday for our monthly Toolbox Talk.

It’s so important to us to keep the communication lines open. If we don’t talk to each other, things can get confusing or stressful, and we never want our team (or our customers!) to feel like they’re in the dark. Coming together ensures we stay a tight-knit crew, ready to support each other and our local community.

It never just all business, though - we make sure there's plenty of snacks to go around. Jake certainly didn’t mind being the official taste-tester! :)

Friday evening update from Old Sarum! 🐾

One of our engineers popped over to a local industrial site yesterday to check in on the team. We’re busy upgrading the fire and security for a new build tucked between two existing buildings, getting the "L1" fire alarm, intruder sensors and CCTV, all linked up to the monitoring station.

Cabling is well underway, but the real boss made an appearance to check our work! 🐱

This handsome chap was spotted in the bushes keeping a very close eye on the crew. We passed his strict site inspection, but we’re pretty sure he was just hoping for a bit of someone's lunch...🥪

Whatever you're up to this weekend, stay safe! 🚐💨

The last day of and in Birmingham has been a bit slower, but no less useful!
It’s been good to have the time today to really talk through some of the technical bits with the manufacturers without the first-days’ crowds. We’re heading back to Wiltshire with a lot of notes and a few new ideas for the projects we've got lined up next month.
Back to the day job tomorrow, it was well worth the trip up!

Out of the office today! 🛠️

If you’re looking for one of the red vans today, you might struggle to spot one in Salisbury as we’ve got most of the crew up at the NEC in Birmingham checking out the latest fire and security gear.

It’s already been a great day for the team to actually hang out together and see the new smart tech and alarm systems hitting the market. We’re always learning, mostly so we don't get caught out when a client asks about the newest bit of kit!

Good to see almost the whole gang together, the other part can't wait to be there on Thursday. We'll be back to our usual local routes tomorrow, and we’re bringing a lot of new ideas back to Salisbury with us.

What a treat to have a preview of summer in Salisbury this Friday! ☀️ The sunshine has definitely put a skip in our step while the EVOTEC crew have been catching up this week.

We’ve downed tools for a few hours here and there to carry out our annual appraisals and team reviews. In our world, we’re often "fighting fires" (sometimes literally!) and racing to help our clients with urgent security or fire safety needs. It’s easy for the "not so urgent" chats to get put on the back burner, but we think these moments to sit down, listen and talk about how we’re really doing are the most important part of the job.

Building a great team takes more than just technical kits and wires; it takes trust and looking out for one another. With Mental Health Awareness Week just around the corner, it’s been the perfect time to check in and make sure no one is feeling "stuck".

We hope you all get a chance to get outside and enjoy the sun this weekend! 🌿
