There are people in this industry that are lying manipulating scumbags who rip bands off, life to them, skank them and worse

We all know who they are and should avoid them like the plague obviously - even if it’s a challenge to do so

Then there are well meaning people that really have the best at heart for everyone and try their hardest but just don’t have the sway, the influence, the reach or the know how to give bands what they need (yet)

Then there are individuals that have worked in the industry for years and been constant, consistent, loving, caring, passionate people that have never once let anyone down and who are always someone rock solid you can rely on who have your back no matter what.

Tonight I want to pay tribute to one person who personifies that last description perfectly

MAT HUME from Sheffield England

A real true music lover who has given so many bands ( I bet it’s thousands now) their very first platform and place to express themselves

Mat is one of those incredibly rare individuals who works with nothing but pure love in his heart and the bands best interests come first

An incredibly loving person who cares more than anyone else I’ve ever encountered in music for the bands who played for him

It’s an absolute honour and pleasure to know (and love) Mat Hume who is a well known , incredibly respected and totally loved human being here in the steel city of Sheffield

I think it’s incredibly important to give and show respect and love on social media to those who put so much passion into whatthey do / did in the music scene

Being totally honest I always admired and looked up to Mat and how he conducted himself and how he cared for the bands who play for him - a true role model

I’m not scared to deliver some positivity on social media where the trend is to rip into people and slate them and to simply say that without Mat Hume there would be no aggressive management (true story) and that many bands and artists would be worse off than they are now if they’d not trusted Mat early doors in their careers

Totally selfless in a world where everyone is out for themselves

Raise a glass to the Mat Hume’s of this world

If you’re blessed enough to know one that is
