Wordsearches are a great way to keep the brain active, improve concentration and give Roy something enjoyable to get stuck into. It’s also a nice opportunity for Tilly to sit with Roy, have a chat and support him with an activity he enjoys.

Meet the Team-
Collette, Field Care Supervisor, Live-In Manager & Dementia Interpreter Trainer 💙

Collette began her career in care at just 18 years old, starting out in community care on her push bike! She quickly realised how rewarding it was to know she could make someone's day a little easier or simply provide companionship when it was needed most.

Over the years, Collette has gained a wealth of experience, working her way up from Care Assistant to Senior Care Manager at other companies, and completing qualifications in Health and Social Care, Dementia and End-of-Life Care. In 2016, she was also nominated for an End-of-Life Care Award in the South East regional awards, an achievement she remains incredibly proud of today.

Collette joined Right at Home Worthing & Shoreham District in 2024 and loves supporting both our clients and care team.

As well as being our Field Care Supervisor and Live-In Manager, Collette is also our Dementia Interpreter Trainer. Offering free workshops to our local community, helping people gain a better understanding of what it can feel like to live with dementia.

Outside of work, Collette is a busy mum of seven who loves spending time making memories with her family. She also enjoys swimming, baking and spending time with her much-loved dog, Blue, who she says is definitely her best-behaved child!

We're incredibly lucky to have Collette on our team. Her experience, passion and genuine care for others make her a real asset to Right at Home Worthing & Shoreham District.

Nicki and Margaret enjoyed a lovely walk together recently, taking in the beautiful blossom and stopping for a photo along the way.

We love sharing moments like these, but they're just one part of what we do. Meet the Team – Leah, Care Manager

Next up in our Meet the Team series is our wonderful Care Manager, Leah

Leah's journey into care began after supporting her grandmother, who was living with dementia. Seeing first-hand the difference that compassionate, person-centred care can make inspired her to begin a career where she could support others and their families.

If you've met Leah, you'll know she's one of the friendliest people you could hope to meet. She carries out many of our client assessments, taking the time to really get to know each person and understand what's important to them. Her kind, compassionate approach helps clients and their families feel at ease from the very first conversation.

One of Leah's favourite memories at Right at Home was arranging a visit to the local RNLI station for one of our clients. Although he was living with dementia, he shared fascinating stories about his time working at a local boatyard, making it a really special experience for everyone involved.

When she's not at work, Leah has another talent – she's played the flute since she was nine years old and even performed with a local orchestra at Alton Towers during a fireworks event... in the dark!

We're incredibly lucky to have Leah as part of our team. Her warmth, compassion and genuine care for others make her a real asset to Right at Home Worthing & Shoreham District.

Here's our lovely carer Marisa and June having a dance together at last week's Love to Move fundraiser. Before we knew it, Marisa had everyone up on their feet!

These are the moments we love most- seeing people having fun, sharing a laugh and enjoying being together.

Well done, Marisa, for getting the party started, and thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a brilliant afternoon.
