A proud moment at Britannia Royal Naval College on 13 August 2026.

Pooley Sword was delighted to donate “The State of Qatar Sword of Leadership” to this year’s winner, Sub Lieutenant Emma Baptiste.

Pictured with Emma are Mark Johnson, Director of Operations at Pooley Sword, and Pooley Ambassador, Major General Bill O’Leary.

Congratulations to Sub Lieutenant Baptiste on this outstanding achievement. It was a privilege to see one of our swords presented to such a deserving recipient at BRNC.

Congratulations to 2Lt Thomas on being awarded the Pooley Sword at this summer’s Short Commissioning Course. After serving as CEUOTC’s Senior Under Officer (SUO) last year she was successful in her completion of the Commissioning Course Short 262 at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Awarded by the MacRobertson Trust, The Pooley Sword recognises her as “best Reserve Officer” and the “best Officer Cadet of the course” — an exceptional achievement and a testament to her leadership, commitment and determination.

The OTC offers far more than military training. It provides the opportunity to develop leadership, challenge yourself, and gain the skills and confidence to pursue a commission in the Army Reserve.

Congratulations to OCdt Bretz on being awarded the Pooleys Sword at the BUAS Awards 2026.

Presented annually to the best all round student on the Squadron over the last 12 months, it is wonderful to see the award go to such a deserving recipient.

In an age of mass production and imported products, we remain committed to doing things differently.

At Pooley Sword, every sword we create is crafted in Britain by specialist artisan craftsmen, with every stage of the process carried out by skilled hands. From traditional cutlers and etchers, to leatherworkers and polishers, each individual contributes their expertise to create a sword worthy of its owner.

We are proud to preserve traditional techniques that have been used for generations, including hand-finishing, acid etching, silk-screen processes, and the creation of hand-stitched leather scabbards. These are not automated production methods—they are skills developed through years of experience and dedication to craftsmanship.

What makes this even more special is that visitors can see these processes for themselves. Every stage of sword manufacture is available for public viewing, offering a rare insight into the craftsmanship behind a genuine British military sword.

We believe authenticity matters. That’s why we will never import cheaply manufactured, ready-assembled swords from South Asia and simply add a badge or engraving. Our swords are built from the ground up by craftsmen who take pride in their work and in preserving an important part of British military heritage.

Tradition. Craftsmanship. Authenticity.

That is the Pooley Sword way.

The Major General’s Inspection is a critical assessment of soldiers and horses that marks the moment the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment is declared fit to participate in ceremonial duties for the year ahead. It is one of the most significant dates in the regiment’s calendar and is seen as a make-or-break occasion.

Yesterday we joined Australians and New Zealanders around the world to commemorate . ❤️

We remember not only the Australian & New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who died on 25 April 1915 and throughout the Gallipoli campaign, but every one of our service personnel who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

This year marks the anniversary of a number of significant battles and conflicts including the 110th anniversary of the commencement of WWI, the 85th anniversary of the commencement of WWII and the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy, France.

Today we reflect on the contributions and sacrifices made by past and present service personnel in choosing a life of service to their nation.

Lest We Forget.

Wonderful photographs from at The Sovereigns Parade on Friday.

It was a historic day at where Officer Cadets were commissioned as Army officers and inspected by the UK’s highest-ranking female officer, General Dame Sharon Nesmith, at the Sovereign’s Parade. Huge congratulations to all, especially Cadet Adamtay from Ghana who was presented with the sword honour, proudly hand crafted as always by Pooley Sword.
