𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.
Biodiversity isn't a new conversation at Radius Systems. It's something we've been exploring for some time, including through our Biodiversity Webinar for the utilities sector.

Now we're looking at what that means closer to home.

Following No Mow May, we're reducing mowing in selected areas around our site to encourage native plants, pollinators and wildlife.

It may seem like a small change, but healthy ecosystems rely on space to grow, feed and thrive. By managing these areas differently, we're creating more opportunities for nature while maintaining the areas that need to remain accessible and presentable.

As a business committed to supporting sustainable infrastructure, we're always looking for practical ways to make a positive environmental impact, both through the solutions we provide and the way we operate.

A tower of spaghetti and marshmallows might not look like part of an apprenticeship interview, but it can reveal a lot about how people work together.

At Radius Systems, we continue to invest in apprenticeships across the business, creating opportunities for young people to develop practical skills and begin long-term careers in manufacturing and engineering.

As part of the recruitment process for a new Maintenance Apprentice, due to start in September, we recently introduced a dedicated Apprentice Assessment Centre. Alongside interviews, site tours and practical maintenance activities, candidates took part in a team challenge to build the tallest structure using spaghetti and marshmallows.

The challenge wasn't about who could build the highest tower. It was designed to help us understand how candidates approached problem-solving, communicated ideas, worked as a team and responded when faced with a task they had never encountered before.

Our maintenance technicians ultimately won the challenge, but the day provided valuable insight into the strengths and potential of the candidates.

Apprenticeships remain an important part of how we develop skills across the business and invest in the future of our workforce.

Over recent weeks, we’ve been exploring how ISCC PLUS certified mass balance can provide a certified and traceable approach to material sourcing in infrastructure, without changing product performance or compliance.

One of the key questions we’ve been asked is, how is that represented in practice?

Through ISCC PLUS certification, pipe systems can be linked to bio-based and/or circular raw materials using mass balance accounting, with full traceability and independent verification.

Sustainability Declarations from Radius Systems, issued in line with our ISCC PLUS certification, provide a clear, auditable statement of attributes linked to certified raw materials within the ISCC PLUS system.

A great couple of days at the Cadent Gas NDC Supplier Event in Erdington, Birmingham this Wednesday and Thursday, with Chris Kowalski representing Radius Systems.

Wednesday’s weather had other ideas and unfortunately Chris’ gazebo didn’t survive the wind. Thankfully, a second gazebo arrived for Thursday and the event carried on with plenty of good conversations and familiar faces from across the industry.
