There’s definitely a chill in the air, which means the Radius beanie hat challenge is making a return!

We’ve already got a couple of additions to the collection.

Our engineering apprentices Tom and Macie have been out representing Radius Systems, with Tom catching up with Henry from Lightworxelectrical – who certainly knows how to make an electrofusion coupler the star of the photo.

A great start to another season of spotting Radius beanies out and about.

Got yours? We’ll be keeping an eye out!

That was the challenge at Upton Road in Poole, where a 14-inch cast-iron medium-pressure main needed replacing beneath a busy transport route.

With build-over constraints, existing services and limited working space restricting the options, the project team identified an unused service void through the bridge.

Working with I&G Contractors on behalf of SGN, Radius Systems supplied ProFuse® gas pipe, while Aquaforce Concrete Services used specialist hydrodemolition to prepare the crossing for installation.

The project demonstrates how early collaboration, specialist engineering and the right pipe solution can help overcome complex infrastructure constraints while limiting disruption to the surrounding community.

And we’re off 🚛

Yesterday at Tippers in Lichfield marked the start of our autumn events season, and we’ve got a busy few months ahead.

Next up is No-Dig Live with our Radius Subterra colleagues, followed by the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Glasgow, where Radius Systems will be joined on our stand by Radius CTS and Aeon Valves.

Then we’ll be back out for the IGEM Annual Conference and British Water Annual Conference as we head towards Christmas.

It’s a busy calendar, but an important opportunity to get out, spend time with customers and talk about the projects and priorities shaping water, gas and pipeline infrastructure.

And with the truck already on the move at Tippers, the season is officially underway.

See you out there.

£104bn of investment has been committed to AMP8. The challenge now is delivering it.

More than a year into the investment period, attention across the water industry is shifting from planning to delivery.
That means creating a more predictable pipeline of work, ensuring the supply chain has the capacity to respond, and balancing investment in new infrastructure with the rehabilitation of existing networks.

So what will define successful delivery through the next phase of AMP8?

We examine the key issues shaping the sector in 2026, including UK manufacturing capacity, wastewater investment, network rehabilitation and long-term resilience.

As a new member of British Water, we’re looking forward to staying close to the technical and commercial discussions shaping AMP8 and the wider water industry.

There's growing interest in biomethane and the role it can play in the UK's energy future. But what is it and why does it matter?

From turning organic waste into renewable gas to making use of the UK's existing gas infrastructure, we're taking a look at some of the basics and why biomethane matters.

Take a look 👇

🦆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

At Radius, we’re committed to making a positive contribution to the communities around us and supporting social and environmental initiatives that create lasting impact.

With our roots in Hilcote dating back to 1969, we’re proud to play an active role in the local community while also supporting wider regional and national initiatives.

As part of our ongoing relationship with Hilcote Environmental Leisure Projects Group (H.E.L.P.), we were delighted to support the group’s recent Duck Day on 15 August with a £500 donation towards its environmental and community work.

H.E.L.P. works to improve local biodiversity and green spaces, with proceeds from the event helping to maintain existing areas and support future community projects.

The family fun day, held at Hilcote Community Centre, featured 10 duck races along the brook, alongside stalls, a BBQ, bouncy castle, face painting and more.

Following the event, Brian from H.E.L.P. shared his thanks:

“𝘈 𝘣𝘪𝘨, 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘙𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘶𝘴 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥. 𝘌𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘈𝘭𝘦𝘹 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘦”

We’re proud to continue supporting local initiatives and organisations that make a positive difference in the communities around us. 🌱

Last week we went behind the scenes at our UK headquarters in Derbyshire to film the production of 355 mm ProFuse® gas pipe for the Biogen biomethane project in Rushden.

This latest pipe will be installed by directional drilling in September, supporting the connection of locally produced biomethane into the gas network and helping make greater use of homegrown energy here in the UK.

As the gas market continues to evolve, Radius Systems is working at the forefront of that transition, supporting infrastructure for hydrogen and now biomethane.

We’ve already followed the first Radius Systems pipe from this project being installed on site. In September, we’ll be back in Rushden to follow this next section into the ground.

For now, take a look inside our factory at where the next stage begins.

Nobody notices infrastructure when it's performing exactly as it should. Attention only arrives when something fails.

That's why every valve matters long before it's ever called upon.

Choose confidence. Choose Aeon.

Success in infrastructure isn't measured by attention. It's measured by uninterrupted service.

When systems simply perform, everyone wins. That's the outcome Aeon engineers every day.

Reliable performance doesn't happen by chance. It starts with engineering decisions, manufacturing precision and rigorous quality control long before a valve is installed.

The result isn't exciting. It's dependable. And in infrastructure, that's exactly what you want.
