✨ A rare Matthew Boulton masterpiece comes to auction in Penshurst tomorrow…

Dating to 1802, this exceptional George III silver epergne combines two areas for which Matthew Boulton was renowned – masterful silversmithing and the beautiful Derbyshire stone, Blue John.

With lion’s paw feet, lion mask detail and four striking Blue John dishes, it would have made an extraordinary centrepiece more than 200 years ago – and remains every bit as impressive today.

Our specialists have searched for comparable examples and have struggled to find another quite like it.

💍 A remarkable piece of jewellery history coming to auction in Penshurst…

Dating to possibly the 16th/17th century, this fascinating gold, enamel and diamond fede and gimmel ring is formed from two clasped hands enclosing a triangular step-cut diamond within a red enamel heart.

Even more intriguing, hidden inscriptions can be found on opposing bands… a wonderful detail Justin reveals as he takes a closer look at the ring in this video.

This magnificent exhibition-quality oil on canvas, Admiring Her Dance, by acclaimed Irish artist William McGrath (c.1890), has travelled quite the journey. 🌸 Despite the hot weather, Hansons Kent & Sussex are still blooming! 🌸

This beautiful c.1940s 9ct gold flower basket brooch, adorned with delicate sprays of turquoise and amethyst flowers, was brought along to our recent Free Valuation Day at The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks.

Its owner was actually on the way to donate it – along with several other items – to charity… but thankfully decided to pop in for a valuation first!

After discovering its auction potential, this charming piece is now set to be offered in our Penshurst Silver, Jewellery, Watches, Fine Art & Antiques Auction on 8th September with an estimate of £200-£300

It just goes to show – before you part with your treasures, it’s always worth having them valued by an expert. You never know what hidden gem you might have!

⚽ A lifetime of football history... all in one remarkable family collection.

Handed down through the generations, this incredible collection of football programmes and memorabilia spans the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, capturing some of the game's most memorable moments.

Inside you'll find programmes from clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham United, Derby County and many more, alongside some truly exceptional pieces of footballing history.

One of the standout highlights? An official 1966 FIFA World Cup Final programme, accompanied by the original ticket stubs from the match itself – a wonderful survivor from England's greatest footballing triumph. 🏆
