A huge thank you to everyone who made our enTWine Summer Festival a really fun night! While we had some exciting plans to recreate an old school sports day… the weather was firmly against us. However, the incredible hospitality and stunning food from Liam and the team at The Deer Park Café and the wonderful accompaniment from singer Matilda Reed made sure everyone had a fantastic evening.
We appreciate everyone who brought a bottle for our mega wheelbarrow raffle in aid of St George's Childcare. Thanks to Rosanna Stewart from the charity, who came along to run the raffle and told us more about the charity and the support it gives families locally who need to work and require childcare. We’ll let you know how much was raised in due course.
Congratulations to Nick Brandon from tecwork who won all the bottles in the raffle! We were going to give the wheelbarrow to the lucky winner but realised, having spoken with Rosanna, that St George’s would really appreciate it in its allotment, so we donated it to them instead.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an enTWine event without a break-out room and our members were asked what advice they would give their 10-year-old self when it comes to their career? The answers included: Be brave; You can change; Trust your gut; Stop apologising; Take opportunities; Break the mould; You can have multiple careers; and Things will be hard but you will get through it.
Another shout-out to Matilda who sang her heart out and made sure we all forgot about the rain. She had some pretty amazing backing singers who stepped forward/were pushed onto stage at the end of the evening! We’ll remember Nick Brandon and Neil Simmons’ appearance as the Gallagher brothers for a long time!
None of this would have been possible without some fantastic help both on the night and behind the scenes. Clare Kelly, Practice Manager from CooperBurnett, made sure the night ran without a hitch, while Imogen Fleur and Iola Cameron from the firm were brilliant in our pop-up glitter bar! Thanks also to Jag Taak from Loch Associates Group for welcoming our guests and George Gadsden from Eight Financial Advice for stepping up to lead one of our break-out rooms, alongside Victoria Sampson, Lynne Gadsden, Ashley Scriven and Michael Gadsden.
We can’t wait for our next Summer Festival!
