Meet Cai Williams, an apprentice at our Merthyr Tydfil Service Centre who's building his skills and making a valuable contribution to the team.

Currently working towards his Level 2 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification, Cai has already been putting his skills to the test in regional and national competitions and is also a finalist in the Rising Star category at next month's Regional Make UK Awards in Wales! 👏

What a fantastic evening it was for Dennis Eagle at the 2026 Midlands & East Regional Make UK Awards this week, celebrating a win and two runner-up achievements! 🏆🎉

🏆 Winner – Health, Safety & Wellbeing

We're very proud to have received this award! It recognises the extensive work undertaken across the business to continually improve health, safety and wellbeing.

From ongoing training and colleague support to achieving ISO 45001 certification earlier this year and introducing innovative digital solutions, these initiatives all play an important role in strengthening our workplace safety and wellbeing culture.

We're extremely proud of our teams who continue to work hard to maintain high standards across all our sites.

🏆 Runner-up – Manufacturing Impact

This award recognises our unique educational initiative, featuring our much-loved Dennis to the Rescue mobile classroom!

From educating and inspiring the next generation about waste and recycling to highlighting the importance of protecting our environment, it's wonderful to receive further recognition for an initiative that encourages positive behavioural change beyond the classroom and continues to make a difference in communities across the UK.

🏆 Runner-up – Manufacturing Finalist Apprentice Award: Dominic Bates

Dominic has been on an incredible journey throughout his apprenticeship, and this achievement is a fantastic recognition of his talent, dedication and the skills he has developed along the way. We look forward to seeing him continue to thrive as a valued member of our Production Engineering team.

Dennis Eagle was also shortlisted for the Strategic Business Growth Award.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming David Hoey, Operations Director at Mencap, and members of his team to Dennis Eagle.

While our organisations may appear very different on the surface – Mencap as a charity and Dennis Eagle as a for-profit business – the visit highlighted how many similarities there are in building successful, effective operations.

Hosted by our Managing Director, Keith Day, the visit allowed both teams to share ideas, experiences and different ways of working, exploring how a focus on people, process and technology can help drive operational excellence. 💡

Discussions covered everything from the importance of accurate data in supporting management decisions to process-focused ways of working, internal customer relationships and creating a culture of ownership and accountability. 📊

We also explored the different approaches both organisations take to delivering value for their customers, and how strong processes behind the scenes can ultimately support better outcomes.

A really positive day of shared learning, open discussion and fresh perspectives, and a great reminder that organisations operating in very different sectors can still learn a great deal from one another. 🤝
