When someone you love is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, it can leave families feeling overwhelmed, uncertain and unsure of what comes next.

As a carer, you can become an important source of reassurance and support — not only for the person you care for, but for the people who love them too. It's about getting to know the person behind the diagnosis, helping them feel safe, valued and supported.

Care is more than a job. For lots of families, being able to build that kind of trust with the person supporting their loved one can bring immense relief — and become a real lifeline.

Could that person be you?

A big congratulations to Tray!

We’re so proud of Tray, one of our Care Managers and Nurses, who has just achieved her Level 3 Trainer Qualification!

This means Tray can now deliver training to our carers and support teams across a range of important areas, including Dementia Care, Moving & Handling, Medication, End of Life Care and Basic Life Support.

It’s a fantastic achievement and a reflection of Tray’s continued commitment to learning and supporting our team.

Well done, Tray, and thank you for everything you do!

This September, we’re talking about dementia.

September is World Alzheimer’s Month — a time to raise awareness, encourage understanding and help more people feel confident talking about dementia.

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing stories, advice and information about living with dementia, supporting a loved one, and the importance of care that sees the person, not just the diagnosis.

At St Jude’s Care, we believe understanding dementia helps us provide better, more compassionate care — and helps families feel less alone.

This World Alzheimer’s Month, let’s start the conversation.

Bank holidays are an opportunity to slow down, spend time with family and enjoy the things that make a day feel special.

Our care team has been working throughout the bank holiday to make sure the people we support have the help they need to make the most of it too. They've been helping clients meet up with family, enjoy a trip to the beach, and simply providing some company in the garden over a nice cup of tea. Having the right support in place can make all the difference.

Because care isn't about missing out on life — it's about having the support to enjoy it.

Our new pool cars are out and about!

You might start spotting our new hybrid vehicles around Dorset. A small step towards greener, more reliable care.

Kerry was out in one today, helping our team continue to support clients across Dorset.

Keep an eye out for us!

What makes someone a great carer? It's not just experience or qualifications. It's noticing when someone isn't quite themselves and remembering the little things that matter to them.

Having the patience to listen. Knowing when to encourage and when simply to be there.

And treating every person with the same kindness, dignity and respect you'd want for someone you love.

At St Jude's Care, these qualities are at the heart of what we look for in our care teams.

Because great care isn't just about what you do. It's about the person you are while you're doing it.

For many families, arranging care isn't the difficult part.

It's not knowing what to expect. That's why your first visit is never about rushing in.

It's about getting to know you, understanding your routines and listening to what's important to you.
Together, we'll build a care plan that reflects your lifestyle, preferences, and the support you need.

Because the best care starts with understanding the person—not just their needs.

The greatest compliment we can receive is knowing we've made a positive difference to someone's life.

Every conversation, every visit, and every care plan is built around one simple goal: helping people feel safe, supported, and confident in the care they receive.

Receiving feedback like this reminds us why we do what we do and means the world to every member of our team.

To our wonderful clients and their families—thank you for trusting us to be part of your journey. And to our incredible team, thank you for the compassion and commitment you bring every single day.
