September has always felt a little bit like a second New Year to me.
A chance to get back into a routine, refocus on your business and start doing some of those things you've been saying you'll get around to.

Online Connections to Brunch Conversations

During September, I'm inviting women in business to join us at one of our three Oxfordshire Athena online networking meetings.

You'll have the opportunity to meet other women in business, introduce yourself and your business, and start making some genuine connections.

Then on Friday 2nd October, we're taking those online connections offline and getting everyone together for our Networking Brunch at The Bear & Ragged Staff in Cumnor. ☕🥐

Yesterday, I joined several of my fellow Athena Regional Directors for our online Cappuccino Connections meeting. 💗

It’s a fantastic opportunity for our members to network beyond their own local groups and build relationships with women in business from across 11 Athena regions.

It was a brilliant reminder that even though July and August can be a juggling act when you’re running a business alongside holidays, childcare and everything else life brings, staying connected really does matter.

This September, I’m inviting women in business across Oxfordshire to experience Athena by joining one of our online networking meetings.

One of the biggest networking mistakes I see is people arriving at a networking meeting expecting someone to buy from them straight away.

When that doesn't happen, they often leave thinking, "Networking doesn't work."

The truth is, networking isn't about making a sale at your first meeting.

It's about building trust.

It's about getting to know people.

It's about understanding how you can help one another.

The businesses that get the best results from networking aren't usually the ones selling the hardest. They're the ones consistently building genuine relationships over time.

A lot of women in business aren’t struggling because they’re bad at what they do.

They’re struggling because not enough people know they exist.

Visibility matters.

Not in a “look at me” way.
