❄️ Winter (Dormancy)
This crucial period sees temperatures plunge to -22°C or lower, requiring special care for the vines.
🌿 Burying the Vines
From late October to mid-November, the vines are carefully bent and covered with soil to shield them from severe frost. This labor-intensive process is vital for protecting Vitis vinifera varieties grown in the region!
✂️ Pruning
Winter pruning takes place during this time to prepare the vines for the upcoming growth cycle.
🌸 Spring (Bud Break and Flowering)
As temperatures rise, the vines awaken:
* Unearthing: Vines are dug out from early April.
* Bud Break: Begins in mid-April.
* Flowering: Typically occurs at the end of May.
