KarenKrivaa, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), MMDSmart, and K2's Amy Kenigsberg recently discussed where AI fits into the content marketing workflow.
We found one major area where it doesn't: writing non-slop content.
Areas where AI is working
· Social posts and blogs: especially when based on existing good content and smart prompts, but even those definitely require human review and potential rewrite.
· Research: AI makes it easy to find objective data to support your arguments. It can also review key publications to provide insights into thought leadership topics you may want to focus on. It can even tell you what your competitors are writing about.
· Outlines: if you describe the audience, what key messages you’d like to communicate, and what topics you’d like to include, AI can provide a highly detailed outline to guide your human-written content.
· Editing: not only does AI catch the typos that regular spellcheck doesn’t, such as their, they’re, there, http://etc., but it also can find redundancy and reveal awkward writing. AI can also point out any human-written phrases that have been co-opted by AI so you can eliminate them. It is excellent to use as a reference for best practices.
Setting up skills and smart prompts and asking and answering questions tremendously improves the final results. From our experience, EVERYTHING still needs to be reviewed carefully.
If you have other areas of content marketing where you’ve found AI to be helpful, please share them with us.
(By the way, the image accompanying this post was AI generated, of course. For quick and dirty images, it's great. For actual design, nothing beats a real person.)
