Paryavaran Mitra is a humble endeavor to uplift the rag-picking women of India in a holistic manner while focusing on their dignity and respect. Rag-pickers, mostly women, collect recyclable waste from the streets and dump sites and sell it for their daily wages. As these women play an integral role in waste management and recycling, they provide a silent but essential service to both society and the environment. For this reason, with great respect, we call them as Paryavaran Mitra or Friends of the Environment.

🌧️ Monsoon Support for Our Ragpicking Sisters 💚
The monsoon season brings added hardships for our ragpicking sisters, making it even more difficult to earn their daily livelihood.
To support them during this challenging time, we distributed essential grocery kits to around 700 sisters, helping their families with basic food supplies.
🛍️ Each kit included:
• 1 litre cooking oil
• 5 kg atta (flour)
• 2 kg dal (lentils)
• 5 kg rice
• 1 kg sugar
• 250 g tea
• 100 g each of red chilli, turmeric, and cumin powder
This initiative was made possible by the generosity of our supporters.

🌍 Happy World Environment Day to Everyone! 🌱
Today, 5th June, we celebrate World Environment Day. It is a day to remind ourselves of our responsibility towards protecting and preserving our environment.
Nature has given us so much—clean air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, and a beautiful world to live in. It is our duty to give back by caring for and protecting the environment.
Environment protection is not something to be practiced only on Environment Day; it is a commitment that we should follow every day through our actions and habits. Small efforts such as reducing waste, recycling, planting trees, conserving water, and keeping our surroundings clean can make a big difference.
Today, we celebrated World Environment Day by cleaning roadside areas and spreading awareness about the importance of cleanliness and environmental conservation. Through these efforts, we hope to inspire more people to take responsibility for keeping our communities clean and green.
Let us all pledge to protect nature, reduce pollution, and work together towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier planet for future generations.

A Month of Joy and Celebration at Paryavaran Mitra
This month was filled with joy, celebration, and togetherness at Paryavaran Mitra.
We began the month by celebrating Holi with our beloved ragpicking sisters. It was a simple but heartfelt celebration where we shared dhani and khajur, spreading colors of happiness and gratitude among everyone.
In the same week, we also celebrated Women’s Day in a special way. Around 300 sisters joined us for a joyful outing where we watched a movie together, followed by a small treat of pani puri, bhel puri, bananas, and a ₹100 gift envelope for each sister. It was a beautiful moment of laughter, relaxation, and appreciation for the incredible strength and hard work of these women.
A heartfelt thank you to our mother organization Manav Sadhna, our generous supporters, and Diptiben for helping make this wonderful celebration possible. Your support continues to bring dignity, joy, and encouragement to the lives of so many sisters.
Together, we continue to celebrate their strength, resilience, and the spirit of community. 🙏

🌟 Happy Uttarayan to Everyone! 🌟
This week has been truly fulfilling and full of joy. We were blessed to celebrate Uttarayan with the wonderful sisters of Paryavaran Mitra, making the festival even more meaningful.
With the generous support of Diptiben, this Uttarayan we were able to distribute 400 blankets and sweets (Kacharyu) to our sisters across all centers. To add festive cheer, we also celebrated by sharing kites 🪁 and chikkis 🍬, spreading smiles and warmth everywhere. 🙏
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported and stood with us. Together, we continue to uplift, empower, and celebrate our community. 💛

Namaste everyone 🙏
A few days ago, a Gujarati movie titled “Lalo” was released. The film portrays the life of a rickshaw driver who struggles with alcohol addiction and often misbehaves with his wife. Later, he finds himself trapped in a farmhouse, where he confronts his past demons and experiences divine visions of Lord Krishna, who guides him on a powerful journey of self-discovery, healing, and transformation.
Many of our rag-picker sisters shared that the situations shown in the movie closely reflect the challenges they face in their own homes. After hearing about the movie from them, they requested that we take them to watch it.
Understanding their emotions and connection with the story, we decided to take all our sisters to watch the movie together. 🌸
It turned out to be a truly meaningful experience — everyone enjoyed it a lot, and it sparked hope, reflection, and positivity.
We sincerely thank everyone for your continuous love and support.
Your encouragement helps us create such moments of joy and healing for our community. 💚
