REFORMING EXAMINATION EVALUATION IN INDIA FOR TRUE LEARNING
Examinations have long been considered a key criterion for assessing a student’s talent and academic capability. However, for this system to remain credible, clear standards and consistent evaluation criteria are essential. In earlier decades, scoring above 80% was seen as a significant achievement, reflecting strong understanding and effort. Today, however, it is increasingly common to see students scoring 99% or even 100%, raising an important question: has the quality of learning improved at the same pace as the marks, or is there a gap that needs attention?
