Morning friends it has been an interesting night on my side,i don't know how it was for you.As a true leader i can not go to sleep with all this wisdom that is burning my heart.Let me pen something down for you on this subject matter addiction.
Yes i have been doing research the whole night (topic addiction), and i am a bit tired now i want to sleep a bit before i wake up at 5:00 am as it is normal for me to start the day. Addiction is a brain disease that affect also significant others rather nuclear family as we learned in our formative or tender years. Yes primary school.
What is addiction?
how does it affect us?
What are the thing's that can lead or make me think that i have this problem of addiction?
let us look a bit deeper in to the subject and i hope we will get some clarity by the time i drop my pen.
what are some of the forms of addiction?
I have delibaretly decided to leave space or rather assignment for you to define what is addiction? As i make you a scholar like me or rather an academician.
i will mention a few examples from day to day life basin on the many clients i have walked with as a therapist.
examples of addictions in kenya alcohol addicts, and drug abuse addicts,s*x and s*xuality addicts, politics addicts, food addicts, betting addicts etc.
How can you know that you have a problem as a person of addiction?
let us walk this journey together. It is not easy to get out once you are in friends. It takes the hand of God and a good active listener for one to pull through or rather get solutions to their vice.
I personally have walked through the journey of recovery from political addiction, i believed that i am born a politician.
second vice, betting i was so much in it.Not even my wife could win this war, until i did my own personal finance management, a lesson that i learned from somewhere many year's ago.I authentically concluded that i had a problem indeed and i went for therapy.
Through out the night as i did my research i concluded that it is through self disclosure of my own addictions and how i managed to pull through.
Politics i am still working on it, doing so well i tell you.Actually 2017 i had relapses,i had 70k i just walk in to a place did a photo, and negotiated on a price for posters! It sounds crazy for sure?Yes i did commet but i consulted a second designer who i finally commeted and deed 5000 calender for a start of campaign.I can sent a copy here tommorow morning to confirm what i am saying if you daught me.Policital addict indeed!
Addiction begins in the mind, emotions and feelings.
Environment too plays a great role.
Let me share this client example that i call classical.Reason it brings it out clearly when i am training.
I seat next to this woman who looks sharp or rather good.It is normal behaviur to engage the person next to me on a conversation throughout the journey. She responds well and we talk.Half way she discloses that she is stressed because of her behavour!Sexual behavour actually she is so candit and bold to say it as it is?I am shock as a person but as a therapist i am ready to walk the journey to recovery to my new client.Eh we organize for sessions and we walk to recovery indeed. Some of the things my clients was going through, "she would have had great s*x with the husband throughout the night, she loves her husband but she could not get over the craving of s*x from other's out there. It all started one day when going to work in a matatu, she started a talk with a guy seated next to her, then it goes on and on and on. She enjoyed s*x the whole night from the husband, but when going to work she would have cravings for s*x,(casual s*x as i call it for lack of better word) and as she travels like we were, she could end up enjoying with or from other, an easy victim of cecumtance so to speak(team mafishi hapa mnaomba mgekutana naye sio)?.One day she was going to work in westland area from ruai and she seats next to this guy, they start to talk by the time they get to town the mission has changed and she find's herself in a room having s*x.This happened repitetly and she noticed it was becoming a problem to her side but were is help and it repeated itself for years. She suffered in silence as many are in Kenya suffering or rather struggling not knowing were to get help from. She need help and God had given it. Meeting with a therapist was indeed a turning point as she reminds me,after many many year.
