When you spend years working side by side with people, sharing deadlines, stress, victories, coffee breaks, and everyday moments, it’s easy to believe those connections will last forever.
And sometimes they do.
But sometimes, the bond was built more on proximity than true friendship.
Work can bring people together for a season, a project, or a chapter of life — and that’s okay too.
One thing I’ve learned is that genuine friendships continue even when the workplace, routine, or convenience disappears.
The people meant for your life will still check on you when there’s nothing to gain, no office to share, and no reason other than simply caring.
Not every colleague becomes a lifelong friend, but every experience teaches us something about people, connection, and ourselves. 🤍
Have you stayed close to any former co-workers after leaving your job?
