Happy birthday to veteran Nollywood Actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki ❤️😍
Chinedu Ikedieze, MFR (born 12 December 1977) is a celebrated Nigerian actor, entrepreneur, and investor, renowned for his long contributions to Nollywood and African cinema.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Ikedieze has appeared in over 150 films, earning widespread acclaim for his versatility, memorable performances, and comedic timing.
Born in Iluoma Uzuakoli, Bende, Abia State, Nigeria, Ikedieze completed his early education in Aba before advancing his studies at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Theatre Arts and a degree in Mass Communication. He later broadened his craft with further training at the New York Film Academy.
Chinedu Ikedieze entered the Nigerian movie industry in the late 1990s, gaining early experience in supporting roles. His breakthrough came in 2002 with the comedy Aki na Ukwa, in which he starred alongside Osita Iheme.
The film’s success propelled him into the spotlight, and the duo popularly known as “Aki and Pawpaw”, became one of Nollywood’s most recognizable on-screen pairs.
Over the years, Chinedu Ikedieze has showcased his range across genres, from comedy and drama to television series such as The Johnsons. His body of work has endeared him to audiences across Nigeria and the diaspora.
Chinedu Ikedieze’s contributions have been formally recognized with prestigious honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) , a national honor bestowed by the Nigerian government in recognition of his impact on film and cultural expression.
