“Debbie, what are you the CEO of other than your own life?" 😂

Fair question.

My life comes first.

But beyond that, I'm building a personal brand and coaching business that helps women 40+ stop hiding and start monetizing what they already know.

Many women have spent decades raising families, supporting careers, solving problems, leading teams, serving communities, and gaining valuable experience.

Yet when it's time to build something for themselves, they suddenly believe they have nothing to offer.

That's simply not true.

Your experience is an asset.

Your story has value.

Your knowledge can become income.

And your next chapter doesn't have to start from scratch.

It can start from what you've already built.

So yes...

If I could sit down with my 23-year-old self, this is what I'd tell her:

• Nobody is coming to save you. Save yourself.

• Start now. There will never be a perfect time.

• Don't assume you'll be this age forever. Time moves faster than you think.

• Stop living by another person's timeline.

• Not everyone who advises you knows where you're trying to go.

• People's opinions can change overnight. Don't build your life on them.

• Some opportunities return. Some never do.

• Your future is heavily influenced by the people you spend the most time with.

• Don't be afraid of mistakes. Most lessons are expensive because they are valuable.

• When you fail, you're not finished. You're learning.

• Life is hard for everyone. Don't waste time comparing struggles.

• Tell yourself the truth, even when nobody else will.

• Start where you are. Use what you have.

• Build the dream God placed in your heart.

• Be grateful. Every new day is a gift.

And perhaps the biggest lesson of all:

The life you want won't be built tomorrow.

It will be built by what you choose to do today.

I spent years battling low self-confidence, staying quiet, and shrinking myself in rooms I should have taken space in.

But then, a shift

I stopped waiting to feel ready.
I stopped waiting for validation.
I started showing up anyway.

And somewhere in that process, confidence caught up with me.

This is what growth looks like when you refuse to stay stuck.

If you're still waiting to feel confident before you start showing up… you might be waiting too long.

See, life will give you responsibilities.

People will expect maturity.

The world will teach you to be serious.

But never lose your ability to laugh, play, dance, and enjoy the simple moments.

Growing older is inevitable.

Losing your joy is not.

And honestly?

I hope the little girl in me never disappears.

For years, I thought self-love meant thinking highly of myself.

I later discovered it meant setting boundaries, protecting my peace, and refusing to shrink so others could feel comfortable.

The older I get, the more I realize that self-love isn't selfish.

It's necessary.

Somewhere along the way, many women were sold the idea that life slows down after 40.

That the dreaming is done.
The opportunities are gone.
And all that's left is to watch others pursue the things you once wanted.

I don't believe that.

I've seen women reinvent themselves, build businesses, discover new purpose, and create impact long after 40.

The question isn't whether it's too late.

The question is:
