PRESS RELEASE FOR THE FIRST KADUNA STATE CITIZENS CAPACITY BUILDING ON SAFETY, SECURITY, EMERGENCIES MANAGEMENT AND RESPONSE MOBILIZATION
Following the recent safety and security challenges in the State; the Kaduna State (Government) Executive Council has approved the Establishment of Safety and Emergency Management Volunteers’ Scheme in the 23 Local Governments Area of Kaduna State and including the private sector (Public places). This is to enhance a sustainable mitigation, risk reduction, preparedness for both natural and human-induced disasters and have a standby trained FIRST RESPONDERS across public places and offices.
The capacity building coordination and management are part of the mandate of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in collaboration with the Ministry for Local Government and Annuels Consulting- Strategy & Development Experts.
The General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA (Mr Tiamiyu Muyiwa Adesina) will be leading a team of Experts to Kaduna State for a three day Capacity building programme. The workshop will also cover security education to be anchored by Security Experts.
The Workshop will take place in three locations as follows:
KADUNA: Date: Tuesday 29th January 2019 TIME: 9am-4pm VENUE Gymnasium Hall, Ahmadu Bello Stadium
KAFANCHAN: Date: Wednesday 30th January 2019 TIME: 9am-4pm VENUE: New Choice Hotel Kafanchan
ZARIA: Date: Thursday 31st January 2019 TIME: 9am-4pm VENUE: Kongo Conference suites ABU,Zaria
Needful to mention, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State is expected to declare the Workshop open.
Participants will be given telephone & sim line (connected to Safety & Emergency Platforms), training materials, safety jacket, certificate & good meal.
