A historic milestone for women in leadership!

Emelda Musonda has been appointed the first female Managing Director of Zambia Daily Mail, marking a new chapter in the organisation’s history.

Her journey reflects steady professional growth. She served as Managing Editor from March 2024 before becoming Acting Managing Director in January 2026. She also holds degrees in Mass Communication and Law from the University of Zambia.

Her appointment is a reminder that leadership opportunities can grow from years of experience, commitment and dedication to one's work.

Olujoke Aliu, SAN, has made history as the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria at Aluko & Oyebode.

She joined the firm in 2003 as an associate. In 2015, she became its first female litigation partner. In January 2023, she was appointed Co-Managing Partner, a role in which she continues to contribute to the firm’s growth and leadership.

With over two decades of experience in commercial litigation and arbitration, her elevation reflects years of dedication, expertise and commitment to the legal profession.
