Last week, I was invited to talk with 10-11 year old boys of Corona School, Victoria Island on hygiene, peer pressure and dealing with the opposite s*x. These young men are about to embark on the next phase of their lives – secondary school 💥✅
It was a fun and interesting engagement in which I shared two of my personal stories around peer when I was 10 years old and 16 years respectively.
Surprisingly, one of the boys asked me why I didn’t learn any lesson from my experience at 10 years. And another asked me, “So, when you caught your friends doing something wrong, did you report them?” These boys “nogreeforme”
At the end of the talk, I shared 6 ‘personal mantras’ with them and asked them to pick the one that resonates with them, share it with their parents and keep it close to their heart throughout secondary school. Interestingly, most of them picked, “I will focus on progress not perfection”, followed by “I always do my best” and “I learn from my mistakes”
Here’s wishing them safe adventures, resilience and success!
