Dear young person, there are probably a lot of things you want to do now that are outside your capacity.

I, however, want to advise that you continue to do what you need to do until you can afford to do what you want to do.

So, it is okay not to be able to afford certain luxuries, gadgets, fashion items, etc.

It is just fine not to be able to afford to sleep all day, every day. It's not even healthy for you.

I mean, you can't afford to not invest your resources (time, strength, finances, etc.) wisely.

You, my dear, can't afford to not master control over yourself (thoughts, emotions, actions).

You can't afford to lose focus as you can't afford not to be consistent.

Discontented? Nah, you can't afford to not be contented while you can't afford to be complacent.

Now and always is the time to seek God. grind. Study. Build quality relationships. Learn. stay focused. Apply for opportunities. Prioritize your time. Avoid frivolities. Unlearn. Relearn. Pursue your dreams. Stay consistent. Practice self-care. Build your cognitive reserve. Prioritize your health. Add value to someone. Upgrade your capacity and just, Live.

And have fun while at it.

Again, go easy on your desire to chill with the big boys. Recall that the big boys did not become big overnight.

They did and are still doing what they ought to do, so they can do what they want to do now.

HOW TO RESPECT YOURSELF

(1) Stop looking for who is not looking for you.

(2) Stop begging.

(3) Stop saying more than is necessary.

(4) When people disrespect you, confront them immediately.

(5) Don't eat other people's food more than they eat yours.

(6) Reduce how you visit some people, especially if they don't reciprocate it.

(7) Invest in yourself. Make yourself happy.

(8) Stop entertaining gossip about other people.

(9) Think before you talk. 80% of how people value you is what comes out of your mouth.

(10) Always look your best. Dress the way you should be addressed.

(11) Be an achiever. Get busy with your goals.

(12) Respect your time.

(13) Don't stay in a relationship where you don't feel respected and valued. Walk away.

(14) Learn to spend money on yourself. That's how people will learn to spend on you.

(15) Be scarce sometimes.

(16) Be a giver more than a receiver.

(17) Don't go where you are not invited. And when invited don't overstay your welcome.

(18) Treat people exactly the way they deserve.

(19) Except they owe you money, two call attempts is enough. If they value you they will call you back.

I wanted to talk to you today about your wins. Sometimes we forget how much we have achieved. We often focus on what we are yet to achieve and are super hard on ourselves. So today, I want you to think about your wins. Ask yourself: What challenges have I overcome in the last three years? What was a major source of worry for me three years ago that is no longer an issue now? What things am I proud of that I have done in the last three years? What am I grateful for?

If you are honest with yourself, you'll realize that good things have happened for you in different ways in the last three years, and things that seemed like big problems years back are no longer that serious.

As you dedicate yourself to growth, pause often to celebrate yourself, reflect on your strides, and applaud yourself.

Explore your "NOW"

Sometimes, we worry so much about where we want to be and what we want to do that we completely forget where we are and what we have at the moment.

Dear single brother and sister, do not worry so much about marriage/being married that you end up not living, building yourself, creating and impacting your world, fulfilling your purpose through your single stage.

Dear Student, do not get carried away with where to work after school and what to earn that you pay little or no attention to study, research, and your continuous upgrade in all facet.

Dear someone, while you place your eyes on where you desire to be, what you desire to do and get, do not neglect your NOW. There's a purpose for the NOW you're in and it shouldn't be left unfulfilled.

The "now" is part of the process and you should live through it. Explore all that needs to be explored NOW, live in each moment and make sure no lesson is left unlearnt as it would be needed for a proficient you in the future you envisage.

Live through your process, you owe yourself that much!
