A new set of pickups just arrived from Dagger Guitars! 👌🏻😁

First impressions are definitely good! The pickups look great, and the packaging is really nicely done.

I’ve actually wanted to build a baritone guitar for quite a while, and I think this Daggersonic set might have just found its new home. I’m really curious to hear how they’ll work with the longer scale length and lower tuning of a baritone.

Every custom build has a story, and this one started long before I cut the first piece of wood.

My customer already owned a Tele Deluxe that he had extensively modified over the years. While those upgrades brought it closer to what he wanted, it never felt like the one. Eventually, he decided to start from scratch and build the guitar he had been chasing all along.

The brief was clear: a lightweight, resonant TE DLX with a fuller Soft V neck that gradually transitions into a comfortable C profile. The neck and fretboard were crafted from the same piece of quarter-sawn roasted maple, creating a seamless look and feel.

The Mojo Wide Range CuNiFe pickups were carried over from his previous guitar. He already knew and loved their voice, so they became the foundation of this new build.

The finish was another first for me: Coffee Brown Sparkle over Deep Black, finished in aged nitrocellulose lacquer. During the freezing process, the lacquer developed a beautiful network of natural checking, giving the guitar an authentic, well-played character from day one.

Really proud of this one.

My good friend Nigel just released his very first EP, entirely written, arranged, and performed by himself. Guitars, bass, keys, drums, vocals… every instrument you hear on the record was played by him.

What makes it extra special to me is that every electric guitar track on the EP was recorded using the Rojo MV I built for him last year. There’s something incredibly rewarding about hearing an instrument you poured so much time and care into become part of someone’s music and creative voice.

Huge credit as well to Kramer for the recording and production work in his studio. I had the chance to sit in on a few sessions, and watching these two work together was honestly inspiring. Like a perfectly oiled machine!

And the best part? They’re already working together on a second EP!

I’m seriously proud of my friends and of what they created together.
