Rise and Shine is developing quite a personality: dependable where we need it and full of surprises underneath.
RAS is the gold deposit that sits at the high-grade heart of the project’s early mining sequence.
Two new drill holes have strengthened the high-grade core central to Bendigo-Ophir’s early mining sequence:
🔸 20.7m at 4.8 g/t gold
🔸 11.0m at 8.5 g/t gold
Then came the surprise: 11.3m at 7.3 g/t gold beneath the planned open pit, pointing to another potential high-grade zone.
As we move towards a development decision, tighter drilling is strengthening confidence in the gold expected to underpin its early years.
Solid where we need it. Intriguing where we didn’t expect it.
And three holes still to come.

One election. Two possible governments. A $2 billion question.

As election coverage ramps up in September, what does it mean for New Zealand’s biggest gold discovery in 40 years?
Does Bendigo-Ophir’s future depend on who wins?
Santana Minerals CEO Damian Spring answers Garth Bray on Herald NOW.

D Day Dates
700 conditions and the 44 all important Management Plans are now with the Panel. So let's talk dates. January gets the headline. But is November the date that actually matters?
Garth Bray from Herald NOW presses Damian Spring on the Bendigo-Ophir timetable.

Today, Santana files the rulebook for Bendigo-Ophir.
Seven hundred proposed conditions. Forty-four management plans setting out exactly how they will be put into practice.
It is a major milestone. But what does the new information really say about the application?
Herald NOW business host, Garth Bray puts the question directly to Damian Spring.

While some debate mining’s future, the industry is busy building it. Three hundred sharp minds, 60 years of AusIMM and perhaps its most optimistic conference yet. New projects, new talent and a sector visibly gathering momentum. Santana was in the room. Bendigo-Ophir was in the conversation.

What does this project actually mean for Cromwell?
At Cromwell Sports Club, home to Cromwell Rugby and hundreds of local players, for many last week the answer was refreshingly practical: scholarships, holiday work, specialist training and real careers that could keep more young people in the region. People arrived armed with questions. They left with a clearer picture and at least one extremely underage applicant for the dump-truck fleet. Watch the video.

What does Kiwi the racehorse have to do with the Bendigo–Ophir Gold Project? More than you might think. There’s belief. There’s backing yourself. And then there’s doing the work to prove it. For us, part of that work is our PFS - Pre-Feasibility Study - and currently, our Fast-track Approvals Application, which resumes on Monday, 17 August. Kiwi knew a thing or two about the home straight. And so do we.

What if you didn't have to leave Central Otago to build an exciting career?
That was one of the best conversations we had at today's Wakatipu Careers Expo. More than 800 students came through the event, with many surprised by just how many careers sit behind a modern mining project. From engineering and environmental science to law, communications, trades and operations, there's a place for all kinds of skills. The Komatsu simulator drew a crowd all morning, but the real highlight was hearing so many young people excited about the opportunity to build their future close to home.

Thanks to Wakatipu High School for hosting a fantastic event, and to Komatsu for helping us inspire the next generation.

The heavy hitters are arriving.
The latest additions to our Komatsu fleet each have an important job to do. The D375 Dozer will help build haul roads, drainage, while carefully managing and stockpiling topsoil ready for future rehabilitation. Once mining begins, it'll be busy maintaining roads, work areas and supporting mine development. The WA500, WA380 and WA320 Loaders will keep material moving - feeding ore into the crusher, assisting with tyre changes on our largest equipment, and providing backup support when needed. Cool machines. Specialised jobs. Another step towards bringing the Bendigo-Ophir Gold Project to life.
