As we head into Christmas and the end of the working season for many businesses, we just want to say a huge thank you to our customers, councils, partners, and communities—and an even bigger shout-out to our Smart Environmental Ltd (Smart Group) teams across the country who’ve kept things moving day in, day out.

This year we’ve made strong progress on our Toitū journey, keeping the focus on measuring, improving, and reducing our environmental impact—with more to come. And just as importantly, it’s been great to see our Gallup engagement survey results improve year-on-year, reflecting the effort teams have put into building a stronger, safer, more supportive workplace.

Starting February 1, 2024, local governing bodies must conform to uniform standards for materials collected in council-operated kerbside recycling, as well as Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) collections.
