Job Opportunity – Nelson Tow & Salvage
Nelson Tow & Salvage is a busy, well-established towing and transport company based in Nelson. We are looking for reliable, motivated people to join our team in the following roles:

1. Operations Manager / Dispatcher
This is a key role in our business, responsible for the day-to-day coordination of tow trucks, transporters, and line haul trucks.
Key responsibilities include:
• Answering phones and booking jobs
• Dispatching tow trucks, transporters, and line haul trucks
• Speaking with customers and clients
• Coordinating drivers and schedules
• General day-to-day running and organisation of jobs
• Handling paperwork and job records
• Communicating with insurance companies, workshops, and customers
• Ensuring damaged vehicle photos and job information are recorded and sent promptly
This role would suit someone who is highly organised, can handle pressure, and has excellent communication skills.

2. Weekend Tow Truck Drivers – Day & Night Shift
We are looking for weekend tow truck drivers to cover both day and night shifts. This role involves attending breakdowns, accidents, and vehicle recoveries, so the ability to work unsupervised and handle a variety of situations is important.
Because this role involves dealing directly with customers, the successful applicants must be professional, well presented, customer focused, and have excellent communication skills. Weekend work can be busy and at times high pressure, so a calm and practical approach is essential.

3. Tow Truck Driver – Full/Part Time
We are also looking for an additional tow truck driver for general towing and recovery work. This role includes breakdown work, accident recovery, and vehicle transport.
The successful applicant must be reliable, take pride in their work and equipment, be customer focused, and have excellent communication skills. The ability to work calmly under pressure and represent the company professionally is very important in this role.

Requirements for Tow Truck Drivers:
• Must hold appropriate NZ driver licence (Class 2 minimum preferred)
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work shift work and on-call
• Able to work calmly under pressure
• Mechanical knowledge is an advantage but not essential
• Must take pride in their work and equipment
