OFFICIAL STATEMENT
NOSS wishes to issue a formal statement regarding the passing of one of our static security guards, Mr. Enos Neke of Bena, Unggai Bena District.
Firstly, we extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family & relatives of our late colleague. Enos was a dedicated and committed member of the NOSS - Goroka team, and his sudden passing has deeply saddened all of us.
On the night of Wednesday, 29 July, Enos reported for duty as scheduled and was deployed to his assigned location. Routine night patrol checks confirmed that everything was in order throughout his shift. At approximately 5:50 a.m. on Thursday, 30 July, while waiting for the day shift officers to arrive for the shift handover, he decided to take a short rest. Sadly, when his fellow officers arrived & attempted to wake him, he was unresponsive.
At this stage, we are not aware of any illness that may have contributed to his passing, as Enos had appeared to be in good health throughout his shift. The appropriate authorities will determine the cause of death.
NOSS has taken responsibility for transporting Enos' body to Goroka Hospital morgue and meeting the associated costs. We will also continue to support the family by covering the necessary funeral arrangements during this difficult time.
We respectfully ask members of the public to respect the privacy and dignity of his family. Please refrain from sharing photographs of the deceased without the family's consent.
