Maraming accountants ang nag-point out na may technical error sa previous VAT illustration ko.

At tama sila.

Kung ang customer ay nagbayad ng ₱2,000,000 VAT-inclusive, hindi ibig sabihin na ₱2,000,000 ang sales revenue mo.

Ang actual sales revenue ay ₱1,785,714.29 lamang.

Yung natitirang ₱214,285.71 ay Output VAT na kino-collect mo para sa gobyerno at hindi talaga income ng negosyo.

Ito rin ang dahilan kung bakit maraming business owners ang nalilito sa VAT.

Nakikita nila na may pumasok na ₱2,000,000 sa bank account kaya pakiramdam nila sales nila lahat yun.

Pero sa realidad, may bahagi doon na hindi naman talaga para sa negosyo.

Para ka lang naging collection agent ng gobyerno.

Isa ito sa mga pagkakataon na magkaiba ang perspective ng accountant at business owner.

Ang accountant nakatingin sa tamang accounting treatment.

Ang business owner nakatingin sa cash na pumasok sa bank account.

At pareho silang mahalagang maintindihan.

Ps: Relevant lang ito sa mga VAT-registered businesses.
