Morgado do Quintão is a vineyard estate located in Portugal's southernmost region, the Algarve, close to Silves the ancient capital, and the beautiful award-winning beaches of Almograve and Marinha. Besides it's vineyard, with the oldest Portuguese grape varieties in production, and it's 2000 year olive tree grove, Morgado do Quintão boasts a 1940's olive mill and charming country cottages perfect for lazy summer days.

For Open House, we’ve invited four people to bring a little of what they do — and what they love — to Morgado do Quintão.

Alicia M. Rodriguez · Writing Through the Senses
Writer, storyteller, creative mentor and TEDx speaker, Alicia works with writing, nature and the senses to help people reconnect with their creativity. Her one-hour session invites you to use sight, smell, touch and taste as a starting point for writing and storytelling — exploring the vineyard through observation rather than perfection. No writing experience needed. Just curiosity.

Astrid van der Krogt · Yoga Morning
Astrid is a certified yoga teacher and founder of Easy Flow, creating experiences that bring together yoga, breathwork, mindful movement and nature. Her approach is about slowing down, listening to the body and reconnecting with the natural world. At Open House, she’ll lead a gentle morning practice among the vines, ending with a 10-minute guided meditation. All levels welcome.

Catarina Olefir · Watercolour & Wine
Through Art do Sol, her creative studio in the Algarve, Catarina shares her love of watercolour through workshops, retreats and immersive experiences inspired by nature, light and the landscapes of southern Portugal. Her Open House session is relaxed and playful: a chance to experiment with colour and texture, explore different techniques and create two or three small pieces. No previous experience required.

Maison Clara · Candle Making
Founded in the Algarve, Maison Clara creates fragrance experiences inspired by the landscapes, traditions and agricultural heritage of southern Portugal. For Burn When Ready, old Morgado do Quintão wine bottles are given a second life as scented candles. You’ll create your own fragrance, pour your candle and, while it sets, enjoy a tasting of our wines. You’ll leave with something you made yourself — and a little piece of the Algarve to take home.

This year, there’s even more to discover at Open House.

On 26 September, we’re celebrating ten years of Morgado do Quintão — with a full day of wine, food, music and a few new ways of spending time at the estate.

We’ve invited some of our friends to join us and share what they do with you.

Alicia M. Rodriguez will take you into the vineyard through Writing Through the Senses, using sight, smell, touch and taste as a starting point for stories and imagination.

Astrid van der Krogt will begin the morning with yoga among the vines — a gentle practice of movement, breath and a moment of stillness.

Catarina Olefir brings Watercolour & Wine, a relaxed introduction to watercolour inspired by the colours, textures and light of the estate.

And with Maison Clara, an old wine bottle becomes a scented candle, inspired by the landscapes and agricultural heritage of the Algarve.

There will be oysters from the Ria de Alvor, artisanal vinegar, a closer look at our wines with Mariana Salvador, and plenty more happening around the estate.

Come for the day. Choose what you’d like to join. Stay for everything else.

On June 18th, The Circle gathers around stories, wine, and the landscapes that shape them.

It is with great excitement that we welcome journalist, photographer and author Vivian Bibliowicz to Morgado do Quintão for the launch of ‘Echoes of the Land – Winemakers of Portugal’ — a project we deeply admire for its sensitivity, depth and the way it captures the soul of Portuguese wine through the people and places behind it.

Born from years spent travelling through Portugal’s wine regions, the book brings together stories of historic estates, emerging projects and the communities whose lives revolve around the vine. More than a wine book, it is a portrait of Portugal through memory, identity and landscape.

“I am certain that this work will be of great interest to anyone who appreciates wine, portuguese culture, and inspiring stories that touch the heart.” Vivian.

Join us for an evening of conversation, wine tasting and shared curiosity — a chance to meet the author, hear the stories behind the book, ask questions, browse and purchase signed copies, and spend time with fellow wine lovers around the table.

At Morgado do Quintão, we are recruiting for two roles:

Wine Educator — someone who lives and breathes wine. A true enthusiast and guide, with the knowledge and generosity to share the story of this ancient and extraordinary liquid with those who visit us.
Front of the House — with a natural sense of hospitality, experience in welcoming others, and a genuine love for wine and food.
