Today, on World Photography Day, we’re looking back at a pairing we’ve always believed in: coffee and art. More specifically, coffee and photography. ☕️📷

For almost two years, we had the chance to share a creative hub with our talented friend and photographer Dan Comaniciu Photographer. Through that proximity, we discovered the fascinating world of wet-plate collodion, one of photography’s earliest techniques and witnessed the patience, chemistry and craftsmanship behind every image created on glass.

Naturally, it wasn’t long before our two worlds began to overlap. 😍

During that time, we created workshops where coffee met collodion photography: we brewed, tasted and talked about coffee, Dan introducing our guests to this beautiful historic process. Also, exactly two years ago today, we celebrated World Photography Day at Brasov Art Museum , preparing Syphon coffee inside a room transformed into a camera obscura, while Bulevardul Eroilor appeared live accross the museum walls.

Looking back, these moments confirmed something we had always felt: coffee can become a beautiful meeting point, creating the pause, curiosity and human connection through which art can be experienced differently. 🤍

Coffee, photography, art, chemistry, light - different elements, but every time we brought them together, a little magic followed.

Today, we celebrate photography and the people who still take the time to truly look.🤍

Happy !📷

Remember when we said we couldn’t promise the last Sri Lanka post? Well… this one actually is. For now. 🤍

Five weeks later, Adrian is home. And somehow his last week managed to fit almost everything these weeks have been about: the Coffee Experience at Nüwa at City of Dreams Sri Lanka , a trip south to Hilton Yala Resort for coffee-based signature drinks, bar takeovers at Malkoha and KAFENIO COLOMBO , cupping sessions at Kai Colombo , long days, lots of brewing… and occasionally, making coffee barefoot next to the ocean because apparently that can also be part of a working day in Sri Lanka. 😀

We chose this project we deeply believe in, to share knowledge, work alongside the local coffee community and help Sri Lankan coffee earn more of the attention it deserves. And somewhere between all those trainings, tastings, long working days and cups shared together, it became about the people too. The road trips, the laughs, the friendships and all those little moments that made five very intense weeks feel incredibly worth it. 🙏🏻

The suitcase is ( almost) unpacked, and yes, quite a few bags of coffee made their way back too. 😍Some really special ones that we can’t wait to brew, taste and share with other coffee curious people here. Because after talking so much about what Sri Lankan coffee can be, it only feels right to let people taste some of it, right? 😀

Five weeks may be wrapped, but there’s still so much we plan to do together and luckily, plenty of reasons to go back.

Coffee Machines | Coffee Sri Lanka - thank you for taking such good care of our coffee person. Until next time. ☕️🇱🇰

Today, The Coffee Shop Restaurant’s DN1 Value Center location celebrates its first year, and we’re grateful to have been part of another chapter in a collaboration that has now grown alongside us for years.☕️🥂

One year later, what stands out isn’t the milestone, but all the ordinary days that made it one worth celebrating.🙌🏻

Happy first anniversary The Coffee Shop Restaurant 🥳

Yes 🙌🏻 another Sri Lanka photo dump... but honestly, this one comes with a pretty special weekend and was simply too good not to share. 🇱🇰

Adrian had the privilege of judging the finals of the Sri Lanka National Barista Championship - always inspiring to witness the passion, precision and dedication competitors bring to the stage. ☕️

He also wrapped up three days at Hotel Show Colombo alongside the amazing Coffee Machines | Coffee Sri Lanka team, where every conversation, every new connection and every exchange of ideas was another reminder of why we love being part of this industry.

And with two more weeks still ahead, we have a feeling Sri Lanka still has a few more stories for us. ☕️🤍

We weren’t exaggerating when we said these five weeks in Sri Lanka would be intense. 🇱🇰

We’re officially halfway through, and this weekend Adrian is joining the incredible Coffee Machines | Coffee Sri Lanka team at Hotel Show Colombo — Sri Lanka’s largest hospitality and foodservice exhibition, where hotels, cafés, restaurants and industry professionals come together to discover new ideas, technologies and suppliers shaping the future of hospitality.

Every signature drink, every detail of the stand, every conversation waiting to happen has been carefully thought through. And the result is exactly what we love most: a coffee experience that feels intentional, authentic and genuinely connected to people. 😍

Working alongside a team that shares our belief in quality, education and the extraordinary potential of home-grown, locally roasted Sri Lankan coffee has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. 🙌🏻🫶🏻

Here’s to celebrating local coffee, meaningful projects
and everything that’s still to come. ☕️🫶🏻

A new article we’ve been working on lately, which isn’t really about coffee. It’s about people, brands and the experiences that quietly stay with us. ☕️

It’s a reflection built from years spent in hospitality, specialty coffee, brand projects across different markets - bringing together observations that eventually became the way we think about every project at Habitat.

The photos felt like a natural choice, too 🙈 - ukyō brunch , a coffee concept close to our hearts, one of those places where nothing asks for attention, yet every detail has a purpose. A beautiful reminder that sophistication often lies in simplicity. 🤍

If this sounds like your kind of read, you’ll find the article through the link in our bio. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed writing it. 🍃

Sri Lanka, we’re coming back. 🇱🇰☕️

Together with Coffee Machines | Coffee Sri Lanka , Adrian is heading back to Sri Lanka for five weeks of back-to-back training, competition preparation and working alongside an incredible team that’s helping shape the country’s coffee scene.

Thank you - Coffee Machines | Coffee Sri Lanka 🫶🏻. We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to your vision and to support the continued growth of specialty coffee in Sri Lanka. 🇱🇰

Let’s do this 🚀

A little late for the World Of Coffee photo dump, but can we make posting after you’ve actually lived it a thing? Because that’s exactly what happened here. 🙈

for us was not just a place to discover the latest equipment or taste coffees from around the world (although we’ll happily spend hours doing both), but a place where we get to step outside our own perspective. A place where we reconnect with people we’ve met over the years, meet new ones who instantly feel familiar, exchange ideas that will quietly find their way into the projects we’re working on and leave with a head full of inspiration for the people who trust us with theirs. ❤️

Another great part of this trip was meeting Séverine Fréval . What was supposed to be a quick conversation turned into one of those exchanges where you realise you’re speaking with someone who shares the same curiosity, values and excitement for coffee and hospitality. 😍

We had a few more of those - with amazing people from France - Jean-Loïck , Luxembourg, familiar faces from Romania, old friends from Dubai.

And somewhere in between all of that, we also got to support Mihnea Nicolescu and 𝑳𝒖𝒄𝒂 , who stepped onto one of the biggest competition stages in coffee for the very first time, while Marius Nica and achieved an incredible 7th and 8th place at the World Roasting Championship.

Of course, we came home inspired by thoughtful equipment, beautiful design details and ideas we’ll bring into future projects. But if there’s one thing this weekend reminded us, it’s this: coffee has never been the final destination. It’s simply the reason remarkable people keep finding each other.

Until next time ☕️🤍
