The latest data from the Swedish and Nordic hotel markets 📊 Strong growth in RevPAR in Stockholm (+17 percent) and Gothenburg (+11 percent) in April 2026 compared with the same month in 2025.

The growth across Sweden was driven by increased demand and ADR in Gothenburg and Stockholm, along with surrounding municipalities such as Solna, Sigtuna, and Nacka. All these municipalities recorded double-digit increases in RevPAR compared with April 2025, where Nacka stood out with an increase of 47.9 percent.

Annordia Hospitality Consulting advised Aroseken on the letting of a new hotel in Västerås. The hotel will be operated by Strawberry, which will open a Home Hotel in Aroseken’s upcoming district at Finnslätten.

For Aroseken, the hotel forms part of the broader vision for Finnslätten – where services and meeting places are developing in parallel with the expansion of industry.

The hotel is planned to include 167 rooms, a gym, modern meeting facilities, and a restaurant. Construction is planned to begin in autumn 2026, with the opening expected in spring 2029.

HOTEL MARKET UPDATE MAY/26
The latest data from the Swedish and Nordic hotel markets 📊 Strong growth in RevPAR in Stockholm (+14 percent) and Gothenburg (+18 percent) in March 2026 compared with the same month in 2025.

Stockholm saw unchanged demand and occupancy rate but a significant increase in ADR (+14.0 percent) in March 2026 compared with the same month in 2025. This resulted in a 13.7-percent growth in RevPAR.

Gothenburg, on the other hand, saw the number of rooms sold increase by 13.2 percent and the occupancy rate rise from 54.9 to 61.0 percent. Combined with a 5.8-percent increase in ADR, RevPAR increased by 17.6 percent.

Hotel companies are positive about both current profitability and demand over the next 6 months. 📈

The hotel key indicators in Sweden improved in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the same quarter in 2025. ADR and total room revenue increased by 3.4 percent and 5.9 percent respectively, while the number of rooms sold rose by 2.5 percent. The occupancy rate increased from 48.2 to 49.2 percent. 🇸🇪

Hotel companies remain optimistic about demand over the next 6 months, and the trend has been positive since early 2023. The view of profitability has improved over the past year, and during the first quarter of 2026 the seasonally adjusted and smoothed net balance reached its highest level since before the pandemic. This is a sign that hotel companies’ costs have stabilized as a result of lower inflation, and that they have been able to raise their prices, which is also reflected in the higher ADR in Sweden as a whole. 📊

The latest data from the Swedish and Nordic hotel markets 📊 Strong growth in RevPAR in Stockholm (+12 percent) and Malmö (+25 percent) in February 2026 compared with the same month in 2025.

The demand for hotel rooms increased slightly in Sweden in February 2026 compared with the same month in 2025. However, the occupancy rate remained unchanged at almost 51 percent. On the other hand, there was a significant increase in ADR (+6.7 percent), which resulted in a 6.8-percent increase in RevPAR.

The increase in ADR in Sweden as a whole was primarily driven by Stockholm and its surrounding municipalities, including Sigtuna and Solna, as well as Malmö. In Stockholm, ADR increased by 6.0 percent while the occupancy rate rose from 56.4 to 59.5 percent following an 8.2-percent increase in the number of rooms sold. Together, this resulted in an 11.8-percent increase in RevPAR.
