🏆 Call Lade has been named the SME winner for 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 & 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲 at the 27th Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards. 🌱

Presented by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC), the award recognises organisations that lead on sustainability and bring others in their sector along with them. Our citation noted something we intend to continue to live up to: that rather than relying on policy commitments alone, we have focused on "𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑠" — optimising how our fleet operates, measuring our greenhouse gas emissions, and preparing operationally for low-emission vehicles.

This follows the two SEAA awards we received in 2024.

1. Our Chief Sustainability Officer, Mr Wei Kun Hoo, receiving the award from Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, with Ms Isabella Huang-Loh PBM, Chairman of the SEC, alongside them on stage.
2. The trophy and the citation, home from the ceremony.
3. The citation engraved down the back of the trophy. It describes a roadmap guided by five pillars: workplace safety, people development, ethical business, community engagement and climate action.
4. And Ollie, SEC's otter mascot, who has earned his spot in our office. 🦦

Most of the work happens long before the fireworks do.

This year we supported the National Day Parade in two ways: as a sponsor, and on the ground, helping move what needed to be moved before and after the celebrations. Not the part anyone sees from the stands, but the part 𝑤𝑒 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑏𝑒𝑠𝑡.

Mr Chek Meng accepted our appreciation plaque on behalf of Call Lade from Chief of Defence Force, Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, at this week's NDP 2026 Appreciation Function.

Thank you to the NDP 2026 Executive Committee and the organising teams for having us again, and to our fellow sponsors for everything each of you brought to the day.

And to our own team who handled the lifting and the odd hours: no plaque for you this year, but a parade does not happen without work like yours.

See you next August. We will be there before the crowds. 🇸🇬

𝐸𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎𝑛 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑖𝑟𝑦 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒. 𝐴𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑚𝑢𝑚 𝑎𝑔𝑒.

Our team spans a wide range of ages, and that mix is the point — colleagues who have been in this trade for decades working next to those just finding their footing, each picking up something from the other.

A year on from the Tripartite Alliance Award, what stays with us is not the trophy on the shelf.

Age inclusion in an operations business is less about the wording of a policy and more about planning. Rosters have to work. Cover has to be arranged. The practices only hold up because supervisors and colleagues of every age keep making them work, long after the paperwork is filed.

Thank you to TAFEP Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices for the feature, and congratulations to the four other organisations in the spotlight. Different industries, same conclusion.

🍽️ Lunch usually happens between jobs. Not this time.

We got our IGH team around one table for a proper sit-down meal. No timings to keep. No containers waiting. No reason to hurry.

Just time to eat slowly and catch up with the people they see every day but rarely get to sit with.

It is a small thank you for the early starts, the long days (or nights) and the steady work that keeps everything moving on the ground.

Getting this whole team in one place at one time is harder than it sounds. We should do it more often. 😊
