Today's throwback is from 2014, our son Zack was back from college on break trying to make some extra money, Julie is photo bombing in the background. Like Cheryl, Julie worked on and off for us for 40 years. Ken and Julie "retired" now together at Tractor Supply in Desoto funny how life works out!

The Lovell family did a little of everything! Kim started in the kitchen washing dishes, then cooked on the line, she hosted, served, and bartended. There wasn't anything she couldn't do. Cliff (Kim's husband) was our resident handyman, he could fix anything. And their three girls: Denni, Miranda, and Rosalyn were all awesome servers.

Don't forget we are cooking this weekend....here's what we have to offer for pick up in Adel.

1/2 gallon potato soup $18
Quart of Mac n Cheese $9
9 inch cheesecake pie $18
Mini loaves of Cornpatch bread 2 for $5.

Pick up is in Adel from Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Use messenger to place your order.

1/2 gallon Potato Soup $18
Quart of Mac n Cheese $9

The downside of running a successful business for 40 years is it sometimes outlasts your friends, family, parents, grandparents, and favorite customers. We have our favorites we think about often.
Today we focus on two of our favorites: Lucy Schwieso and Jim Hunt. Lucy was the backbone of the Cornpatch until she passed away in October of 2012. She was thoughtful, caring, and always had a smile on her face. Jim was our head chef for over 20 years. Loved fishing and hunting. Cancer took both of their lives way too soon, we sure miss them.

Today's throwback photo is of the OG Dennie Schwieso and his mother-in-law Fran Beck. (Grandma Beck). Grandma was the cashier/hostess from the 1980s to early 1990s. At this time dad (Dennie) ran the kitchen, and mom, Lucy ran the bar with Grandpa Larry at her side! Back then the Geneser family has a grain barn next to the Patch and when it was full it spilled over into the parking lot. My how times have changed in Grimes over the years.

We will be featuring the following this weekend:
1/2 gallon Potato Soup $18
Quart of Mac n Cheese $9
9 inch Cheesecake Pie $18
Cornpatch mini loaves of bread 2 for $5.

Pick is available Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Adel . Use messenger to place your order and let us know which day and time you'd like to pick up, we will do our best to be available.

Sorry we've been a little quiet lately, life's gotten in the way of cooking. With the Holidays approaching we are back at it, starting with a Halloween cooking this weekend.
Here's what we will be offering this week:
1/2 gallon Potato Soup $18
Quart of Homemade Mac n Cheese $9
9 inch Cheesecake pie $18
2 for $5 mini loaves of Cornpatch bread.
No main entree this week, doing the basics, but still perfect for a Halloween party or some tailgating.

Everything will be cold packed and ready for pick up Friday, Saturday and Sunday. When you place your order using messenger, let us know which day and time works and we will do our best to be available.

It's hard to believe that this week marks the FIVE YEAR Anniversary of the CLOSING of the CORNPATCH! It just seems like yesterday we were hanging with our favorite customers. In honor of this each day this week we will drop a favorite picture from life at the Cornpatch from previous 40 years. Today's pic of the day is of Cheryl Burkhart taken on this day 5yrs ago! She worked with us on and off for 40 years! Stay tuned for more throwbacks!

Use messenger to place your order for this weeks' pick up!
