A Valdeorras w**ery becomes the only one in the D.O. with organic certification.

Bodegas Blare, located in Vilanova, in O Barco de Valdeorras, has just obtained the organic production seal from the Xunta de Galicia becoming the only w**ery in the D.O. Valdeorras to hold this certification.

All of Blare's production is organic. Its founder, Herminio Blanco, puts it simply: "Our philosophy is to do things calmly." A commitment to careful work, respect for the vineyard and the long term — over haste.

For a historic, small region like Valdeorras, this recognition is more than a seal: it is a step forward in sustainability and market differentiation. A w**e born from a specific soil and a specific philosophy.

The Monterrei W**e Fair closes its most successful edition ever.

With more than 36,000 tastings sold across three days, the 19th edition of the Monterrei W**e Fair in Verín has set a new attendance record in the history of the event. Visitors came from all over Spain, Galicia and northern Portugal, confirming the Fair as one of the main showcases of Galician w**es.

The response was visible beyond the tasting halls: w**e and gastronomy sessions and showcookings with local products reached full capacity a week before the event began, and the gastronomic offering doubled the number of food stalls compared with previous editions.

According to Manuel Vázquez, President of the Monterrei PDO Regulatory Council, the figures "demonstrate the potential of Monterrei w**es and show that the path we have embarked upon is delivering results" — with a clear drive to bring the Fair closer to new and younger audiences.

A great way for the region to celebrate its w**es before the harvest — which began here last week.

Albariño from Rías Baixas continues to rise on American w**e lists.

The U.S. is the leading export market for D.O. Rías Baixas, accounting for 34% of total export volume. Over the past 25 years, Albariño sales in the American market have grown from 244,000 litres to nearly 3 million litres — sustained growth that reflects the recognition of a unique variety, shaped by granite soils and the Atlantic influence of northwest Galicia.

August 1 marks Albariño Day, coinciding with the Fiesta del Albariño in Cambados, where more than 150,000 visitors gather each year to celebrate Galicia's most emblematic w**e. An event that year after year reinforces the bond between this territory and international markets.

Rías Baixas Albariño is defined by its citrus and stone fruit notes, fresh acidity, and mineral character — qualities that have made it one of the most sought-after premium European whites on restaurant lists and specialty w**e shops across the U.S.

Spain and France join forces through a cross-border w**e tourism museum network.

The D.O.P. Cariñena leads the EST project — Space for Sustainable W**e Tourism and Cross-Border Culture — alongside the D.O. Navarra Regulatory Council, Les Vignerons du Jurançon, and the Cave de Gan-Jurançon in the French Atlantic Pyrenees.

The project has developed four interconnected w**e tourism museums located in Cariñena, Navarra, Lacommande, and Gan. Each site offers immersive experiences through audiovisual technology, augmented reality, and aerial vineyard footage. A free app — available on iOS and Android — allows visitors to plan their trip, access multilingual audio guides, and discover w**es from all four participating designations.

Beyond the museums, the project drives cross-border exchanges between w**egrowers, researchers, and industry professionals, focusing on climate change, sustainable production, and digital transformation. The long-term goal is to establish a permanent scientific committee to drive innovation across both sides of the Pyrenees.

A clear example of how w**e culture transcends borders and builds shared identity.
