As a freelance designer, I am grateful when work comes my way; I have never sought it out because God has always brought the right amount to me at just the right time. I sometimes feel crunched with my other life responsibilities I have but being able to flexibly manage many plates while working from home or wherever I’m at is a true gift.

Reflecting back on what I did in 2025, one of the projects I was asked to do was to make a Case Statement for a non-profit. At the time I honestly didn’t know what a case statement was. I was sent a Word document with text and some photos and asked to make it into a printed 8 page presentation to be used to ask donors for money. In other words, take something kinda basic and make it look great.

I love that kind of challenge!

That first project grew into 14 more case statements over the course of the year.

I’m grateful to Barnabas Resources, who sent all the Case Statement work my way. This is an incredible non-profit itself who consults and coaches smaller non-profits on fundraising. They do not charge at all for their services and raise their own funding in order to provide wisdom, direction and expertise to others.

Most of the work I share on .artdesign is fun things I make but RhineDesign is still a big part of where I spend my days.

Last weekend, I heard a wise pastor’s wife share this nugget of wisdom on how to treat people in the church who are sometimes challenging or different. She said “Don’t love others in spite of their quirks. Rather, love them because of their quirks - since that is how God made them.” ann turner

Whenever I hear this late throwback praise song it reminds me of when my husband Chris and I were dating in the early 90’s, standing in the balcony at Wooddale Church and holding hands while we worshipped to this song. Most couples have a romantic song they adopt and when they hear it played, the butterflies return. Somehow for us…Shine Jesus, Shine became “our song.”
