Congratulations to Danielle Cobb-Logan for receiving the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association Media award during the opening ceremony of the state SC Fire-Rescue Conference. The nominated Danielle for this award for her time as a WSAV News 3 On Your Side reporter and her work in helping keep our citizens safe by not only informing her viewers about local emergencies, but ensuring that they also received information on how to prevent them, along with where and how they could receive additional resources and support to increase their family’s health and safety. We ALSO congratulate Danielle and her husband Colby on their recent wedding and wish them both a happy and fire safe life together 😉❤️. Congratulations Danielle!

AIN'T OVER UNTIL IT'S OVER! Responding to and extinguishing the fire is only 1/2 the work. Once the fire is out there is the investigation, and then picking up-cleaning-and repacking all of the hose which at times can exceed lengths of over 1000ft.

Remembering D-Day, the "Day of all Days!" Over 160,000 troops, 5000 ships, and 13,000 aircraft participated in the Normandy invasion of German occupied France on this day 82 years ago. A well conducted decoy and an accurate meteorologist contributed to a successful landing which would eventually bring an end to the N**i regime and liberate 200,000 Jewish prisoners from concentration camps. Over 9,000 allied troops were killed or wounded on June 6th, 1944, and despite the allied success, 2.7 million Jews were killed in the camps at the hands of the N**is. We remember those who fought that day and all those lost during the invasion and subsequent fighting, and those lost in the camps. Once again, we say “thank you” to the Greatest Generation.

Add 43! The and City of Beaufort/Town of Port Royal Fire Department teamed up with the Beaufort County School District to train 43 new Immediate Responders for Beaufort County Government SC. Students were trained to identify an overdoes, administer Narcan, how to stop critical bleeding, and certified in infant-child-adult CPR with AED. Again, this increases the chances should you or your loved one suffer a life threatening emergency in our schools or community, someone nearby can immediately respond and help save a life.
