Typical engagement insight: Employees don’t feel valued.

But why?

Do employees experience a lack of appreciation?
Do they feel it's unsafe to contribute ideas?
Do they believe speaking up is valued?

The challenge with traditional engagement surveys is that they often tell you what employees are feeling, but not what’s driving it.

That’s where contextual data matters.

In our latest article, we explore how in-context analytics can help organizations uncover the behaviors and experiences shaping employee sentiment. By pairing engagement data with behavioral insights gathered in the moment, leaders can move beyond generalized findings to take more precise, meaningful action.

Because “employees don’t feel valued” becomes far more actionable when you understand why.

Just a few moments captured from last week’s Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) 2026 annual conference.

According to our Chief Scientific Officer, Amanda Hagman, PhD, one of the standout experiences, beyond hearing from brilliant statistical minds like Atana Senior Data Scientist Peeraya C., was a Saturday session focused on fostering better workplaces. She said, “It led to some of the best conversations I had at SIOP this year.”

Shoutout to for another successful event, and, of course, to the city of New Orleans and its delicious beignets.

What is Vicarious Learning? Simply put, it's learning by watching others. Every time you follow a YouTube tutorial or pick up a tip from a DIY show, that's vicarious learning in action.

In our popular post, you’ll learn how Atana puts this proven concept to work in its training — plus see a few video clips that bring it to life. By grounding new skills in scenarios that feel immediately familiar, Atana courses make learning feel not just achievable, but natural, so employees are far more likely to apply what they've learned when it counts.

Atana turns training into something far more useful than satisfying a compliance requirement.

Instead of just tracking completions and basing success on "nothing's gone wrong," you get a clear view of employee behavior, attitudes, and where risk is building—before it becomes a problem.

Quid pro quo sexual harassment isn’t always obvious—but the impact is.

Studies by the Institute for Women's Policy Research have found that victims of sexual harassment are 6.5 times more likely than other workers to change jobs within two years. Turnover is far less likely to occur in organizations where employees can do their work free from harassment or risk of harm.

Reach out to learn more about how Atana’s respectful workplace training empowers employees to stand up for themselves and others, fostering a culture of respect.
