BEA members are making a difference in our community and investing in the next generation of women leaders.

Bellingham Executives Association 2026 President Shelli Tench played a key role in bringing the Young Enterprising Women Mentoring Forum to Washington State, creating an incredible opportunity for local students at Ferndale High School to learn directly from experienced business and community leaders.

BEA members Satori Hanson and Diane Talbert also stepped up to serve as panelists, sharing their personal experiences, professional insights, and encouragement with young women preparing for their futures.

This is what BEA is all about — professionals coming together to support leadership, mentorship, education, and meaningful community impact throughout Whatcom County.

🕊️ Remembering Together, Honoring Always

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, the Bellingham Executives Association pauses to reflect on the true meaning of this day.

Today, we honor the profound courage and ultimate sacrifice of the service members who gave their lives to protect our freedoms. Our hearts are with the Gold Star families here in Whatcom County and across the nation who carry the weight of that sacrifice every day.

From the shores of Bellingham Bay to the peaks of Mt. Baker, we are deeply grateful for the peace and community we enjoy—a peace bought at a price we must never forget.

Today, members of the Bellingham Executives Association had the privilege of volunteering with Growing Veterans, an extraordinary Whatcom County nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans through sustainable agriculture, peer connection, and purpose-driven work.

From hands-on farm activities to meaningful conversations, our time on-site reinforced the power of community in action. Growing Veterans is not only cultivating fresh food for local food banks, but also creating a pathway for veterans to reconnect, build skills, and find belonging through programs like Dirt Therapy and peer support initiatives.

We are honored to support an organization that is making a tangible impact in the lives of those who have served our country. Experiences like today remind us that leadership extends beyond business. It is about showing up, giving back, and strengthening the communities we call home.
