You do not build a valuable business at the moment you decide to sell it.

You build that value years before the exit.

Strong businesses are prepared for what comes next. They have the right systems, financial clarity, operational structure, and growth strategy in place long before a buyer enters the conversation.

Waiting until you are ready to sell can limit your options and leave significant value on the table.

Prepare today. Exit stronger.

Build a business that is valuable because it is built to perform, not simply because it is ready to be sold.

Every founder takes a leap. The difference is knowing exactly where you will land.

Building a company takes courage. Growing it takes intention. Knowing when and how to exit takes a plan most founders never get help with.

We walk with founders through every stage of that journey, from the first bold decision to the final successful exit.

Our vision is simple. Every founder builds with confidence, grows with intention, and exits on their own terms.

This is not about handing you a formula. It is about giving you the clarity, structure, and support to make the leap and land it exactly where you meant to.

Is your business built to grow without depending on you?

Your business should be an asset that creates value, scales with confidence, and continues to grow even when you step away.

Growth is not about working longer hours. It comes from building the right systems, developing strong leaders, creating financial clarity, and preparing for the future.

At TANDM Consulting, we help business owners strengthen their operations, improve decision making, and build companies that are ready for sustainable growth and long term success.

Is your IT firm sellable? Most owners think revenue is the answer. Buyers disagree.

Your MRR looks healthy on paper. Solid managed services contracts, predictable renewals, projects layered on top. But when a buyer walks in, they do not stop at the top line.

They check contract structure. Month to month or multi year auto renewals? They check retention by cohort, not your gut feeling that clients are happy. They check customer concentration.

If your top client is 18 percent of MRR, they noticed before you mentioned it. They check whether enterprise deals close because of your sales team or because of you. And they check whether your senior engineers would stay after the deal closes.

This is why two firms with the same revenue can sell for completely different multiples. Unprepared IT firms trade around 4x EBITDA. Well prepared firms with strong contracts, documented service tiers, and real retention discipline reach 9x and beyond.

The gap between those two numbers is not luck. It is preparation. And it takes 18 to 24 months of deliberate work.

TANDM works with founder led MSPs, IT services firms, and software consultancies to build the operational discipline buyers actually pay for. Same firm. Same clients. A very different valuation.

If you are an IT founder thinking about what comes next, start by knowing where you stand today.

Revenue does not decide business value by itself.

It starts the conversation, but the real question is what kind of business sits behind that revenue.

Brian Cross and Hamid Mahmood discussed a simple example during Agency & Brand Growth Weekly Live:

A founder-led business doing around $5M in revenue with roughly $1M in EBITDA may commonly start in the range of 4x to 6x EBITDA, which could place the company around $4M to $6M in value.

But that is only the starting point.

If the business has a stronger niche, deeper specialization, clear AI capability, better systems, a valuable customer segment, or something a buyer specifically wants, the multiple can move higher. In some cases, it may move toward 7x or 8x, depending on how strategic the business is to the buyer and how motivated that buyer is.

That is where exit readiness becomes important.

Buyers are not only looking at revenue. They are looking at profitability, EBITDA quality, customer concentration, founder dependency, operational maturity, leadership depth, revenue predictability, and whether the company can keep growing after the founder steps back.

A business that looks profitable on paper may still feel risky if everything depends on the founder, a few key clients, undocumented processes, or inconsistent growth.

A business that is specialized, systemized, financially clear, and less founder-dependent becomes more transferable. That is what creates better options before any serious exit conversation begins.

This is the real work behind exit readiness.

Not just growing revenue.

Building a company that a buyer can understand, trust, and see continuing beyond the founder.

For founders and agency owners: if a buyer looked at your business today, what would increase your valuation, and what would create concern?

You cannot control what you cannot see. And most founders are flying blind on their numbers.

Ask yourself this. Do you know what your business is actually worth today? Do you know which services drive profit and which ones quietly drain it? Could you hand an investor clean financials tomorrow?

If the answer is no, you are not alone. Most founders build strong businesses on top of weak financial visibility. It works, until the moment it matters most.

A growth opportunity appears. A buyer shows interest. A big decision lands on your desk. And suddenly, guesswork is not good enough.

That is where TANDM steps in. We bring discipline and visibility to your financial engine, so every decision is made with precision instead of instinct.

Clear valuation strategy. Exit readiness scorecards. Profit structure built for scale. Reliable forecasting you can actually trust.

Know your numbers. Control your future.

If you are a founder who wants real clarity before your next big move, this is for you.

Running an agency is not just hard. It is heavy.

Growth. Clients. The team. The future of the business.

Every decision feels high stakes, and every mistake costs you time, money, or momentum.

Most days, it feels like building the plane while trying to fly it.

That is where most founders make the Blind Leap. They chase growth without structure, hire without direction, or try to sell before the business is ready.

It feels bold at first. But the results are real: stalled growth, stress, and lost freedom.

The leap is not the risk. Being unprepared is.

TANDM exists to make sure you never jump alone. We bring structure to your operations, strength to your leadership, and visibility to your numbers, so your next move is deliberate instead of reactive.

If you are a founder who wants to scale smarter and exit stronger, this is for you.

What if the book you publish today doesn’t actually belong to you?

In Agency & Brand Growth Weekly Live, Hamid Mahmood hosted Jonathan Lautermilch to break down the hidden risks behind AI written books and what most people are overlooking.

Jonathan explained that when you rely entirely on AI to write your book, you are pulling from existing open source information rather than creating something original. That creates a major issue from an intellectual property perspective because the content was not truly created by you.

He emphasized that if an AI generated book takes off, you may not fully own the rights to it. That means others can easily replicate or reuse the same content, which happens more often than people realize.

He also highlighted a bigger shift happening in the industry. With the rise of AI generated content, many low quality books have flooded platforms, leading to a decline in overall reader experience.

As a result, major platforms like Amazon have started tightening their policies. They are introducing stricter screening processes, filters, and even labeling systems to identify AI generated books. In some cases, these books may be limited in reach or flagged directly on the platform.

The key takeaway from the discussion was clear. AI can be a powerful tool, but relying on it entirely without adding your own original thinking can put your ownership, credibility, and long term results at risk.

A book should not just be produced quickly. It should be built intentionally, with real insight, real authority, and a clear purpose behind it.
